Babel CDROM-FS

Hi everybody,

first; I am sorry, I was very long time not really active here...

But - I need your help. I am looking for the Babel CDROM-FS. Yes, I know on his website (http://babel.de/amiga.html) I can get it, but after decrunch the archive I only have two files - and don't know what is to do with them

So, it would be great if somebody have this filesystem.

Otherwise it would be ok if somebody could explain me, how to use this stuff from the website.

Another way would be if anyone knows a CD filesystem what's working on KickROM and Workbench 1.3 ....

Many thank in advance

Cheers Josh

Here are the steps

- Unpack archive cdromfs.tar.bz2

- Copy file BABELCDROMFS in Directory L:
- Create MountList CD0
- Copy file CD0 in Devs/DOSDrivers

CD0 Mountlist:

Handler = L:BABELCDROMFS
Startup = uaescsi.device/0
StackSize = 4000
Priority = 10
GlobVec = -1

On WinUAE Mount CD or Image ISO
On WinUAE set "uaescsi.device" (do not use Automount CD/DVD)

Open a Shell type Mount CD0:
Type CD0: Key Return

this was a manual assembly, If desired, an automatic assembly could be done

Many, many thanks, I think this should help.

One question yet; Do you know for what is the second file in the archive?

"BabelCDROMCtrl" i did not need to, from the link in English posted by you I understood very little

Some broken programs barf at this handler's »Startup« line; see the ACTION_GET_DISK_FSSM specification below for all the gory details, and use »BabelCDROMCtrl FSSM« if need be. — Note 3: No, a »Device/FileSystem/EHandler«-style MountList entry is not going to work

Same at me. That's why I decide to ask here.

I will give them a try later. After trying I will report again

From the same developers there is another software CD "BabelCDWriteFS" that allows you to delete files, directories, or add or edit files on a CD-Rom? Of course the software works great on a real Amiga (i used it on the A4000/060).

This magic is possible even if the "permanent" change is only virtual, but thanks to this software it is possible to mount a modified CD and use it without problems.

This operation is very convenient for example when you want to update an executable from the CD or delete some infected or corrupted files or folders. I enclose my old video showing the use of this application, we discussed it some time ago here:
