I had a program for printing graphics, what was it?

Back then I used to print graphics with a program that used only one needle of the printer, it was damn slow and a real ribbon-killer but the result was amazing considering the hardware.

Anyone know the program?

True Print from ASDG? Possibly too new - that was a 2.0-era program, although I think it was 1.3-compatible.

Interesting. What was the benefit of using only one needle?

Can't find that anywhere to try. It was most likely summer 1990 (at least it was earlier than 1991) when I got the printer and this software was already available.

Don't know. Didn't think about it then, but maybe it was more accurate to print with just one needle and then rotate the paper just a bit and print the next line, rather than using all of the 9 needels which have a bit of space between them. Anyway, the picture quality was something else and I'll show you if I ever find the software.

Got a hint from another place, and most likely it was Fineprint. When I tried it first, the result wasn't as remembered and expected. Later I remembered the program had a setting for ribbon condition (new, medium, old) and according to a article about the software I that has to do with the printing operation. Switched an old ribbon (which barely prints anything) and tried again and now it was as slow as printing can be and the result was as expected:
