Escom Amiga Floppy Fix DFO:????

I have been doing a few upgrades to my Escom Amiga A1200, but am having a small issue with the Escom Amiga A1200 Floppy fix.

I brought an Internal Chinon FX-354 from someone on AmiBay and have carried out the motherboard fix to the letter as detailed here.

The problem is that the Amoiga does not recognise the drive, is just says DF0:???? when there is a floppy in there that I know is OK.

Here is a pic of what I have done

Can someone tell me if I have carried out that mod correctly?

I haven't done the mod myself, but according to the guide, it looks correct enough. Are you sure the drive you bought actually works?

Well, Im as sure as I can be, I brought it from a legit guy from AmiBay who said that he tested it before sending, I Have an A500 as well, I guess I could test it in that?

Edit: Can't seem to get it working in the 500, just spins, will not boot, maybe I have a dodgy drive

It should work in the 500 as well. Maybe it was damaged in transit?

Edit: Some drives gets 'stuck' when the head moves too far (don't know if a bump in transit could do it?) and a gentle push on the head can often get it back into its working area. You could also try the drive from the A500 in the 1200 just to see if the mod is working.

I would try cleaning the heads on the new drive as well. You could be testing the drive expecting problems with your mod when its actually the drive.
