Why is this announcement shown all the time?

In 10+ years being here, this never happened before.
This announcement remain on the top of my "view new posts" link unless I actually go and click it:
http://eab.abime.net/announcement.php?f=&a=13

Honestly , it's not as globally important to behave that way.
Has something changed on EAB or is there a mistake in the way this announcement has been posted?

Once I clicked it and read it, it went away.

Other forums I visit have the same thing. There is usually an x in the top right hand corner you can press to make it go away without reading the full post.

I dont think anybody on EAB ever bothered to use it before.

I think I saw such announcement one time or two on EAB, probably when there were server issue earlier this year IIRC.

But I think they went away by themselves.

Anyway, I guess the other mods/GMs will be able to give advice to Frode about this.

But i never seen this before, ever.
I agree it is useful in global EAB cases, like if there's a massive update or a pre-programmed downtime, but not for FS-UAE updates.

Hi, I put the announcement in support.FS-UAE because I posted the FS-UAE 2.0 announcement in the news forum, and thought it would be useful to display temporarily to users only browsing support.FS-UAE, without creating duplicate threads.

It is only meant to display at the top of the support.FS-UAE forum. If it triggers some weird behavior or is annoying, I can certainly remove the announcement...

EDIT: Removed the announcement, in case it is has unintentional behavior - created a 2.0 support thread instead.

I have posted an announcement in the Looking For a Game Name forum in the past, I don't suppose anybody can remember this sort of thing happening then? (Given nobody ever mentioned it probably not )

Maybe it's a glitch in the software or something.

Announcements are cool and always happened in each section, but this is the first time I see it as an announcement that stays on all my "view new posts" clicks until I actually read it. Not even Global Announcements appeared like that before. Definitely NOT a browser issue.

Either something is wrong with the new FS-UAE forum or something had been clicked that shouldn't!
