BBC (so young I can hardly remember it)
Commodore plus 4 - Must've been 5 or something Commodore C64C - Think I was 7 Amiga 500 - Hand me down from brother at about 10 years old Megadrive + A1200 - Both around '92 Fondest memories are definitely of the C64C. Loved that little machine, it had a Binatone upright cassette deck that never went wrong. I'm glad that my Dad went the way of Commodore instead of Speccy and Atari ST. That would've been a robbed childhood. I'm not sure the mental scars would ever have healed. |

Started back in 1982 with a ZX80 I bought with my paper round money for £35. I've still got it too.. and it still works! (plus I bought another one a few years back!).
Then I got a Vic=20 for £15 off a pal at college. Then a rubber-keyed Speccy for £25 in 1986. Despite learning 6502 at college I became 'married' to the Z80 until I got an Amiga. Then I took up bigamy!! @Megol - You, sir, are an absolute GOD!! |

I don't really remember my first computers, but I do remember starting to learn programming by reading ZX81 books and typing the code in from them, and of course, at school, there were the BBC Micro's.

C64 was my first own computer. Before this one I worked (well, mostly played) with a few other systems like my cousin's C Plus4 or the widely spread KC85.

oh also we had a Mattel Intellivision since about 1981 or so, obviously i couldn't program it but it turned my dreams into strange and wonderful games and it inspired me to want to be able to make them.

C64 and a Spectrum clone (Microdigital TK-90X).
I remember back in the 80´s when I saw for the first time a PC, I thought it was the shittiest thing on earth "A monochrome computer with a beeping speaker could never be superior to a C64!". Good times. |
