it was in 1988/89 so i was 16/17
i had to go to the post office, to take the big pack giving a lot of money to the employee, that asked me what the hell it was lol just a standard A500 (english manuals) kick1.2 + workbench 1.2 default noisy drive included i remember that for all the previous year i made some extra-school little works to gain the money for that... in reality 20% of the price was added from my parents at least, i reached to keep also the c64 the later years, we all know how great they were/are i still have that Amiga, the c64 is in my cousin hands instead (just borrowed) Last edited by kremiso; 05 January 2021 at 18:43. |

Yeahhh, it's cool to have the same interest for your whole life
If i count the years ONLY Amiga, i reached 25 years of Amiga addiction Instead if i consider the VIC-20 to be my first computer i reached 38 years of computers passion (VIC-20 -> C128 -> Amiga 500) |

Got my first A500 when they were dumped in favor of the A1200. So must have been late 1992 or early 1993. So I guess I was 17. It replaced my C64 which got dumped by ppl around the introduction of the A500 so 1988.
Yes, I had no money at the time :-) Got my A1200 and A4000 when C= went bankrupt and everyone dumped their Amigas. |

I know I got my A1200 with money I was given for passing my GCSEs, and savings in 93 So 12 or 13 for a second hand a500 and 16 for a brand new A1200 (which i still have - ish ) |

First machine was an original A500. If memory serves my mum and dad bought it for my 19th birthday.

I was 15 when I bought my first Amiga, an A500 Batman Pack (plus extras), from a local computer store, as an upgrade to my C64 Light Fantastic pack.
