AMOS4Linux and AMOS4AROS emulation packs
On request, here is an emulation pack for AMOS Professional for the Linux x86 platform, including everything from my AMOS for Windows pack.
This is based on E-UAE using 'Amiga Forever 2012' AROS-68k ROM. It tested working on Kubuntu 11.10 x64, it should work under Ubuntu and other Linux variants. Full instructions are included in the archive. Enjoy! Update: I include a version for AROS-x86 based on Janus-UAE: AMOS4Linux (zip archive) AMOS4AROS (zip archive) Last edited by Mequa; 25 January 2012 at 01:38. |

This should run on non-x86 Linux if you replace the "AMOSPro" executable (actually E-UAE!) with a binary of E-UAE-0.8.29-WIP4 for that Linux platform.
However, it is likely to be very slow without JIT. Or are you talking about AmigaOS 4.x? I do, however, have a version for AROS-x86 utilising Janus-UAE 1.1: AMOS4AROS (zip archive) Edit: The AROS version runs on a "bare bones" AROS setup without AmiBridge integration features or Janus-UAE currently installed. (They won't affect it, however, as it contains its own self-contained Janus-UAE executable.) Last edited by Mequa; 25 January 2012 at 13:36. |

Are you interested to include AMOSPro?
Check out the AMOS directory in my archives above, it's all working on AROS-68k from its startup-sequence (although some AROS-68k executables/libraries may need updating to newer versions - I replaced some original AmigaOS ones). François Lionet released AMOS under a BSD-style licence, however he did lose the source code for much of it (including all of the AMOSPro sources apparently). @OlsfSch: No, all the original files work fine on AROS-68k. I only did replacements as the original AmigaOS binaries are under dubious copyright status.
Update: I have recently done an experimental AMOSPro emulation pack for AmigaOS 4.x and MorphOS. THIS HAS NOT BEEN TESTED! I don't have access to an OS4 or MorphOS machine. It may well run slowly due to lack of JIT. I'm not sure if it works yet or needs modification. I need guinea pigs with the required hardware and software to take this for a spin. Any takers? This uses latest E-UAE (naturally) and includes versions for both OS4 and MorphOS. AMOS for OS4/MorphOS (zip archive) P.S. If anyone does manage to get this working on OS4 or MorphOS, please post a screenshot or photo so I can see it works. Thank you! |
