What cheat mode? I use predefined keys most of the time, in WinUAE also (same layout like on speccy). You poor cpc, c64 and atari users, your fingering skills suck
Yes ! POQA or QA and brackets plus fire on R_Alt or SPACE, its better than joy, trust me. |

No, simply no Just because you are too poor to afford a joystick/pad doesn't mean that a keyboard is better Playing a platformer or shoot 'em up with the keyboard is just plain and simply wrong!

Actually I don't remember having to work-around anything or setting the compatibility mode, but that was a few months ago so, you know, I have these memory problems...
I also don't remember where did I got it from... must be someone from PPA.pl uploaded it as we had a compo in the game... You've got a working link? I'd like to try it now on W7 x64 |

Wait, 1996? wasn't there a 200x re-release?
EDITED: Yes there was http://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/slam-tilt And that explains why I played it just fine |

@ Sh00n
I don't have the remake the "perfect rip" of Slam Tilt I own can be dl from here (I mean the working files, no need to mount an iso and stuff, but nice to see it's on UG) My web site is still waiting for a nice chap (a friendly bloke, would say Ironclaw) to review it (hint : he may be not made of wood), as it's as deserted as Toundra steepe. |

I'd rather play the WHDload version but that's not the point.
What I am trying to say : The idea that these bugs at startup could be attributed to MS for not polishing their compatibility mode feature, and idea that may indeed have sprung for a second from your Silly Cat Face mind if you had tried to run the '96 release under a modern OS is misleading. As you seem to have understood, back then, the porting of that game was rushed so that even that widely acclaimed MS feature I am referring to would simply fail to make it more compatible. I don't have a problem with that game or with people playing that game, whether on the Amiga or on the PeeCee. I just doubt that the too few PC users who discovered that game went "wow, so that's what the Amiga is capable of" since testing & distribution on the publisher's part were so poorly conducted. And that's a pity that this game went unnoticed on PeeCee, so may be they tried to correct their hardly forgivable mistake with this re-release. Last edited by NewDeli; 03 August 2009 at 19:55. |

I think in most cases i would rather play the Amiga versions of games over the PC versions. But as time went by some of the PC versions were more preferable
