Real 3D

Anyone worked in this piece of software?

I really liked it back in the days. I would spend hours / days modeling something. Before going to sleep, leave Amiga on, so that it can ray-trace the picture all night and the next day. Image would be finished in some 18 hours or so. I would press save image, only to find out there was no memory available for saving. LOL!

Still trying to remember exactly which version i had. The year was early 1993. I remember the program featured several existing scenes and one of them was a checkered floor and in the center was ray traced mechanical part (made of stainless steel) and there was a red wall to the right. This is all i remember. It came included on the disk along with the rendered image. So it must be after the 1.4.2 because 1.4.2 only has the candle scene included.

Anyone remember the checkered floor scene - or perhaps the correct version i'm looking for?

Ok, spoke with Juha Meskanen, he rendered these axis images already with Real3D V1.x, and remodeled them for Real3D V2 somewhere around 1992.

Will check the freeware version to see if it's there.

Lightwave for amiga allowed to use a render farm. The pilot episode of Babylon 5 was rendered with a farm of 32 Amigas.
