Hello. Adding the 500 to my collection.
Hello.. I have a Amiga 500 (1 meg upgrade) on order for the end of November. i had one of these in the late 80's and really enjoyed the pd demos. I have taken a few years to collect a computers and consoles from all generations and still have some way to go. No collection would be complete without the mighty Amiga. I remember as a child going into our local computer shop and seeing the walking cat demo, I was blown away!
Can i still buy old pd demos? and how should i upgrade my 500 so i can load newer stuff? I am by no means a programmer and i don't pretend to be. I just love to watch the Amiga running demos. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Carl |

Disks may be hard to come by
and not very reliable (media or drives) Consider a Gotek Drive |

The Euroscene 1 and 2 CDs contain bunch of demos in LHA and DMS compressed format demos. DMS is a disk compressed image.
Aminet is an excellent source of demos. |

I personally find this much more appealing and it still allows you to use the original floppy drive whenever you need it. |

I would definitely consider Kippers 8mb card with the CF HD. I highly recommend it.....
