The Settlers - technical problems
I've got a couple problems with The Settlers:
1. After copying to my new HD, I now can't save games. In the game, when I try to save I get a Disk Error and it tells me to check the protection bit (I did - and it's not protected). I thought it might be because I'm now using SFS, but it works on another SFS partition. Is this problem caused by my partition being too large? (partition is 3.0 Gb) 2. The Settlers will only work if I first go into PAL mode on my NTSC Amiga. In the manual, it says there's a command line option for forcing NTSC. It says about the option: "If your system is in the PAL standard, the screen will be in NTSC mode...the screen will be smaller...". I tried it, but it doesn't work. Does this mean you need a PAL Amiga to be able to use the NTSC mode?? (doesn't sound right) |

Probably not.
I just tried it again on my small SFS partition and this time it didn't save. So it saved once, but now it won't save. It doesn't make sense. Does anybody else have The Settlers on an SFS partition? |

Just said 'probably' because very often for me in the past when dealing with harddrives bigger than, let's say 1gig, problem occurst... like when I'm going to install an amiga game to a big harddrive the installer complains there is not enough space... which there is plenty of.. so I have to make a little hardfile instead in the size of like 100mb.. then it works.. just thought it could be the same problem in your case.
But I know how to fix this now, so I don't have this problem anymore... |

I think some very old software can't handle partitions greater than 2.0 Gb. I've seen some programs display negative numbers for available disk space for partitions that big. But the other partition I was testing on is only 350Mb, so that can't be it.
