Banshee (AGA) [lemon] [hol]

Round Ends: 23:59 (UK Time) on Saturday 17th February 2024

Rules:

Get the best score you can, during this round.

Post screenshots of your score in this thread, and write the score nearby.

Scores to be achieved without save-states, trainers, passwords, and cheats.

No continues or infinite score leeching.

Full rules and info are HERE.

Special Rules:

We are not using continues, which can be done accidentally when mashing the fire button.

Play on NORMAL difficulty.

Try not to loop the 3rd boss more than 4 times.

Finish the game, and post a screenshot of the end sequence for the completion star.

This is the fourth time we have played this game in the Super League, but I think I was only around for two of them?

Last time we played Banshee, one player's score was deleted because they leeched the level 3 boss. Biscuit, who was moderating, didn't like people taking the 'P', and the player stormed off in disgust. To try to avoid that situation again, I've added a rule which says players should try not to loop the 3rd boss (the factory) more than 4 times. Veterans might do it in 2 loops. Novices might take 5 or more, but at least we should discourage deliberate score milking, so that everyone's scores are representative of the game, and not how much they can milk. Hope everyone can understand why this is necessary.

It is important not to try to take down every possible enemy. The level is divided into "sections" like: two ships, aeroplane waves or lighthouses. There are usually two routes to destroy them (left or right) and rather only one should be taken to pass them. This way some more dangerous enemies can be avoided or some tokens can be collected.

I must say that when there are less planes and more on ground units the game seems to be a bit easier.

No sir, I was a good boy. I actually didn't know you could milk the boss.. it's always just been two loops for me, as I don't think you can do it in one pass due to some of the enemies not appearing first time around.

So there will likely be some headroom on the score for those that wish to milk!
