xmaplay060 is Paula only. AHI is available for Protracker, Fasttracker, Fastracker2, ScreamTracker3, Multitracker, ImpulseTracker, MP3.

(Also Hippel-COSO, but not sure if it works nowadays.)

The bulk of 2SID's ive come accross use the player "GoatTracker V1.x & V2.x" and work perfectly, other sid players that seem to work perfectly fine are listed/marked with.

Glover NewPlayer V21
JCH NewPlayer & NewPlayer V17
Geir Tjelta/SIDDUZ'It
DMC V4.x
Cheesecutter V2.x

A load more either have no player info and instead have demo/musician/other names where other typically have the player name, some are vague where you cant really tell if its a player name or a demo/group/etc name, but they all seem to function regardless.

This leaves the aforementioned player that is causing all issues i can find so far, no idea if this "Hermit/SidWizard V1.x" has any info/documentation or active coders anywhere who can shed light on the issue but for now its the singular problem which the current sidplay is having issues with that i can see.

Also found:

8BitDigi/Mahoney
-Error!/Skips
--Steriophonic 6581 2SID
--Steriophonic 8580 2SID

These skip/error out, so looking at your previous post regarding a skip, i can assume these are also probably RSID's?
Interesting info!
RSID files can be identified by looking at the first 4 bytes in the file which contain, unsurprisingly, the text "RSID"

It's made in vanilla JS. Hippoplayer uses an emscripten port of UADE for accurate playback as well as other JS players.

probably offtopic, but still audio related, but has anyone yet made a sid replayer/player that overlaps 8580 and 6581 sid audio into 1 audio track so both are played together? Sounds dumb i know, but thought wth, lets see if that does anything, so took 2 tracks of ACE2 as mp3 and merged the 2 sid types together with Audacity, no idea if its just ACE2 but the 8580 output seems to drown out the different sounding 6581 output, at least as far as my crappy ears can tell.

Is there even a reason or difference to try this at all?

again, i didnt notice but chordian has the "Player" tab top right, and when we look at a sid tune and click PLAYER, it shows a whole chunk of info regarding the misbehaving Player.

Click Player top right and theres a whole page on Hermit/SidWizard, which may or may not be useful.

OFFTOPIC reply:

In this video I use a real 6581 (left) and a real 8580 (right). Sounds interesting because this creates a pseudo-stereo.

I do this on Ultimate64 ... have both SID types in the two sockets and it is pretty much OK with everything No drowning one with another there...

Unfortunately two new crash bugs sneaked themselves into v2.56:
  • Crash when in the search view and doing a find (key [F] or RMB+"S" button).
  • Crash when playing XM modules when "xmaplay060" enabled.

You can find the patched v2.56 here if these issues seem troubling:

that new archive gives me the following output.

Code:
Extracting from archive 'Downloads:hippoplayerupdate.lha'
  WARNING: Skipping corrupt/extraneous data
No files extracted

Operation not entirely successful.
EDIT: Very weird, it's just my PC being weird, when i click your link to download i for some reason end up downloading the github html as a .lha file, but if i manually go to https://github.com/koobo/HippoPlayer...ayerupdate.lha by pasting the link in my address bar and click the download button there i get a bigger working archive.

No idea why im automagically downloading the github link's html as an lha file, but thats probably an issue with me, so panic over.

great updates overall tho, btw i noticed when playing an MP3 now that if i lower the volume noticably low then swap to a new MP3 the first few moments of playback are at max volume then it quickly skips down to the lowered/set/correct volume, issue with the initial part of buffered playback perhaps?

This is a side effect of the new hiqh quality 14-bit Paula output mode for MP3s. Here the Paula volume setting can't be used, instead mpega.library data scaling is applied to a similar effect. It reacts slower because of buffering, as you mentioned.

To get a link that is direct downloadable, the link of the "Download" button needs to be used. It is almost the same as the above, but the /blob/ part is replaced with /raw/:

Again, thanks for your fantastic work on this player.

When I stream radio I get this stutter opening, moving windows. I tried to mess with the priority but it did not help. It is not cause lack of CPU power. Does not happen playing MP3 etc. I could always make a video to demonstrate it. Any idea why?
