I'm following development and release change dates of that game for 3-4 years already. As far as I know Lucas Arts canned the project.
BTW, did you check wiki: Quote:

Play.com has it for £14.99, so I ordered one. It's been sent today, so I'll be getting it soon - within a week, since I live in Norway.

A Vampyre Story
While it's getting mixed reviews, those on this board will certainly appreciate the oldschool point'n'click adventure with 3D graphics on hand painted backdrops...
http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/927458.asp It's on GAME's and Amazon's website in the UK as well as in the US. Anyone got it already? |

This looks amazing! I'm downloading the demo now. First impressions are good, and if it holds up to my expectations then I will definitely buy this one.
EDIT: Well, after playing the (horribly bugged) demo I'm less keen on this. The main character is so annoying you just want to put a sock in her mouth. Turning voices off isn't enough, THAT'S how annoying she is And she walks so calmly when you direct her around. You can press space to zip between action scenes, but I'd rather see her haste when she moves around. All objects you will interact with are real 3D objects, and being rendered with crisp edges they stand out from the smooth background, constantly drawing your attention and hinting you to what you're supposed to do in every scene. With a little bit of work these could've been smoothed and blended into the scene nicely to make you less attentive of them. Maybe this and other details are fixed in the full version. On the upside, the graphics are beautiful. Last edited by Leffmann; 09 February 2009 at 10:36. |

Finished now.
Random notes: - Main character voice acting was annoying at start but after first hour or so I felt it really fit the character. She also moves REALLY slowly. - Nice graphics (but low resolution without options) - Space (skip) and TAB (show hotspots) should have been available using mouse - some hotspots are in really weird positions (I guess reason for TAB-option..) - difficulty level is really random and some puzzles are quite illogical (like Froderick really refusing to go to <no spoilers> but then he comes with you without any complains if you use "Fly to" option.. and vice versa) = You really have to try both options every time.. - fresh "i may need this <item>" inventory idea (at least I haven't seen it previously) - lots of "interesting" and fun dialogue (perhaps even too much..) - interesting story I liked it |

Now, play So Blonde. If you haven't already. IMO, it's a better game, and it feels like a mix between Monkey Island and Broken Sword, if only for the colorful graphics and exotic themes (including pirates, natives and cannibals).

So Blonde is nicely drawn, but quite boring and not very funny IMHO. You waste quite a lot of time running around and trying to find something that makes sense to do Haven't played A Vampyre Story yet, but hopefully it's a bit more exciting

I thought the topic was about A Vampyre Story (and I didn't ask for suggestions, I especially don't listen to offtopic suggestions )

Well, it wasn't any more boring than Broken Sword, imo. It's more about the relatively slow pace and laid back atmosphere. The humour was more frequent than Broken Sword too. Not every joke was good, but there was a couple of good ones. Either way, you don't play So Blonde or Broken Sword for their humour. Imo, it would be remembered equally as fondly as many of the classic adventure games, had it been released back in the days. It's better than a lot of reasonably good adventure games from the golden years.
That's a really weird (and absolutely nonsensical) rule. |

Sorry about that but it has always annoyed me when someone talks about apples and someone suggest using oranges instead (and then the discussion completely changes to oranges in 95% of cases) Pre-emptive reply!
