Well, I see two schematics in the thread, and I can't be bothered giving any specific help if I don't know which one I should look at. Given your attitude, I won't participate any more in this thread.

Hi Demo, you only need to go back HERE to see what we've been discussing.

Any updates to this project? Did you complete it?

I may as well reply to this...

I ended up simply buying a scart to ypbpr adapter...

They're fairly cheap, work on most tv's, and do exactly what this circuit was meant to do anyway

Actually, I have two....

However! One day, I'd like to make an rgb to ypbpr switch box, with 4 inputs, so I can connect the Amiga(s), Sega Mega Drive, NTSC N64, and whatever other consoles I end up with that have RGB out, to a single input on the tv..

That one would be perfect if it weren't for the major motion de-interlacing issue (moving objects are really soft and sharpen up when the sprite etc stops moving - it's really really distracting).

It also stretched 4:3 to 16:9 which is very annoying if your tv won't allow you to change the aspect ratio on HDMI sources.

No it isn't...

Component (ypbpr) is simply rgb "rearranged"

The quality of component is the same as rgb scart, it doesn't have to scale, or convert anything, it simply adds/subtracts the different colour video signals from each other.

Not all tv's will accept the component signal in a direct conversion like this, so no promises to anyone that it will work in their specific application!

My scart to component adapter has been slightly modified

Amiga RGB to YPrPb convertor

Nice mod AJ! I assume dual inputs with selection between them?

Does it still accept s-video?

Did it ever accept s-video?
I thought the only connections on the board were R,G,B, Sync, and ground?

Yes, its just for dual inputs, one for the Sega Megadrive, one for the Amiga... however, I'd like to design and build a 4 input version from scratch, that also does audio switching.

Yes it is, it has better compatibility especiallly when playing different region games. I have that convertor and it only works for that region dependent on tv

To be better than component, it must be better than rgb scart

In this country there is no need for a unit which converts 50hz to 60hz or vice versa.

I have a similar converter to AJ's and it is brilliant.
