A try on another route than my last one, but turned out to give a lower score.

Harry, you are a master of this game. I see your highest score is 61,745 from the 2012 Knockout Semi Final, and I'm sure it wont take more than a few more tries to match or beat it. I think 61,745 is the best obtainable unless you prove me wrong.

If you look at the Knockout 2008, Rexsu got 63,295 points, and I have no clue where he might have got the additional 1500 points. But you are right, I know this game rather well with the second highest score in the contests.

Game over on 4-2 after I picked up a player saved token in the wrong order and was sent back to a sealed area when I died.

While not perfect, I thought I'd explored most areas and found most secrets, so I really don't know how 60k scores are achieved. Hmmm...

I found the missing 1500 points: Route A in 4-1 and 4-2 gives 1600 more points than route B, if played to the maximum possible, including a death on purpose to get more points. I had always played route B.

I think this score is close to the maximum, I can only imagine 100 more points with much luck.

This is also my final go on this.

Will put some time into this on the weekend.
From memory I suck at this game, so will not be much competition

I tried Mercenary and Gentleman. Died on level 2 in world 1. CPU player got 84188 points. Must be some bug.

Yes, that's happened when we've played this in the competition before. Definitely a bug but I've no idea what triggers it.

I planned my route and tried to do everything as best I could. I know I missed areas on 2-1 and 3-1, and annoyingly I activated a warp I didn't want on level 4-3. That still doesn't account for anything like 5,000 points so there must just be some things about this game I don't know.

eMTe is too close for comfort, so I decided to do one more run.

I followed the plain main route this time in 4-2 (used the corridor along the B starting point on my previous run), and got some more points, and I tried every trick in that score. I dont think I can better that score, as I tried now every thing I can imagine.

Wow!
I am impressed by some scores...
I haven't played this game for years and probably I've never been very good but tonight I tried and I think that my result isn't too bad... 33555 points...

and, above all, I had some great fun!

Have not had much time at all.. but looking at some of the scores on the board I doubt it would have made much difference

Lost my last few lives to the chaos engine! Then I watch the end of a longplay and realize it was only worth 1000 points anyway.

I'd forgotten how good this game is.. spent a while trying to pick which version to play.. cd32 has a nice intro but I prefer the music & gfx of the original. It's a pity that the whdload version does not have the option to enable cd32 controls for the OCS version, would love to see that added
