Thx for the vids mate, though to me your desktop seems to be working fine already As for 3D ports, sure, they will always need more juice...

So, I've actually went and ordered the 5600X. Not sure what has possesed me .....but, there, it's done
Ah, what the hell, I've never had a cutting edge new processor before. YOLO, etc...

Might get it in a month, if lucky, if not then "in 2021", whatever that means (in any case BIOS update for my B450 will be only available in Jauary anyway).

I think you made a good choice
if the 3600 already had this speed in single-thread
I would not have bet on the 5600 but I would have bought the 3600.
I expect the price to drop by the end of December at the moment on amazon it is sold for 500 euros.
A few days ago I decided to take the I9 10900k by recycling all the accessories of the desktop I7 4770k more or less the same figure I spend on the full build of the 5600.
But at this point I hold the desktop with the I7 4770k without touching it.
My wife will be very happy to play zelda breath of the wild with cemu as long as she wants :-)
Then I saw the 5600x benchmarks and thought about it again.
After many years it is the first time that I build a new build so what you say also applies to me :-)
All that remains is to wait :-)
By the way, I will turn on the desktop lights if anything when I have to resell it maybe in the future to some younger guy it could be an extra option for those who buy

For me to see the 4.1FE that works well means to have a very advanced amiga back in comparison to the 3.1 that I used a chapter that was never closed for me despite the amiga collapse.
Maybe a bit like someone who buys a Vampire to see amigaos finally work as expected.
that's why I like the nature of my fixation and very simple

Ok order placed 2 days ago and now let's cross our fingers
I changed the configuration slightly
after some reflections I bought from "pcspecialist"
so I find everything ready in the case I just have to turn it on.
all in all the hardware is more or less the same
i changed the processor i chose a ryzen 5800X it seems to me much more efficient in multi-thead and it will be useful for other purposes too.

MID TOWER CORSAIR 175R RGB GAMING CASES
AMD Ryzen 7 5800X eight-core CPU (3.8GHz-4.7GHz / 36MB CACHE / AM4)
ASUS® TUF GAMING B550-PLUS (DDR4, USB 3.2, 6 Gb / s) - ARGB-ready!
Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3600 MHz 16 GB (2 x 8 GB)
CORSAIR 750 W RMx SERIES ™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET
High performance Corsair Hydro Series H80i V2

i will probably be the only one to test the processor with winuae to see the performance on it.

at the moment i will use the geforce 970 and then change it later

delivery time maybe December 18th (we hope)
however it goes I paid the processor at the right price

I truly hope that I will be able to use 4.1FE as I have always wanted.

I got 5950x yesterday (and RTX3090) and "standard" Amiga benchmarks seems to be already too confused with too fast CPUs. Some return lower results, some higher results.. Sometimes randomly results are really high.

I didn't bother with doing any real world tests but they are probably the only ones that return results that make sense.

One important bit is that Ryzen Master shows Memory Control section Coupled Mode=On. (Memory and "infinity fabric" have synced block). Result got noticeable better when this mode. Usually it is synced but I have 3733 memory and official IF max is 3600 so I had to force it on. (It was already enabled with 3900x but BIOS reset all CPU specific values when CPU was replaced)

I didn't yet try enabling PBO (precision boost overdrive) or other overclocking options (which I had enabled when using 3900x). I'll want to first see if current config is fully stable.

I'm glad you got everything :-)

i believe you are referring to ryzen master utility
of course I have no experience with this as I do not yet have ryzen
but i was reading about problems with ryzen master utility and memories
and it is better to use the bios directly because it could conflict with AMD OVERCLOCKING in the bios section creating problems with the motherboard.
But I believe this is not your case.

probably the bug has been fixed

Instead, I wait and hope to test with the ryzen 5800X as soon as possible :-)

From what I could understand the 5800X performance should be between 10700k and 10900k in this case in single-thread without going into the details of every single benchmark etc. the results seem to be those.
I expect a boost of at least 60-70% compared to the i7 4770k
if this should be the result then everything will work fine.

It would be interesting to see your 5950X running 4.1FE :-)

Apart from the online side and applications such as streaming and some sites such as youtube.
The local performance increase as for applications such as dosbox and basilisk for example and the same e-uae with the workbench working would give an extraordinary depth to the 4.1FE emulation
which today already works well with an i7 4770k but it is not perfect if all this would be increased thanks to a faster cpu would be an excellent goal for me and for those who would like to use the 4.1FE

maybe a little luck
here we are
Processing date 01-12-2020
Pre-production date 04-12-2020
Construction date 07-12-2020
Verification date 07-12-2020
Waiting for shipping date 07-12-2020

let's hope they haven't forgotten a few pieces

I hope the 4.1FE can work well and sorry for the posts maybe it can be of help to others who like me asked a lot of questions about the ryzen configuration and had some doubts about what to choose at a reasonable price.

Out of the blue, my processor arrived last week, despite being told it will only be available "next year". Had to buy a new mobo in a rush (BIOS for my current one will only appear in January) and I have finally put it all together yesterday - 5600X+RTX 3070. Migrating from my 3600 and 1080 Ti probably wasn't worth it regarding modern games. Ray tracing is still in proto stage and not all that relevant, and games in 1080p have already ran quite fast. And even though it's a powerful system, IMO it's still not enough for 1440p regarding framerates. Yep, I can crank the gfx settings a bit higher, I guess, and it's fun adding mods, Reshades and ENBs. But I mainly bought it to tick off "have an modern kick ass PC rig" off my bucket list, since I'd been a frugal second hand builder before that.

I can't test it with 4.1 since it's something that I understand requires to be bought, and a lot of setting up too, and I'm not really into modern Amiga. Might see how it handles PS2/PS3 and other demanding emulators thou.

I am very pleased that you have arrived I guess it is a great system also the graphics card is a great choice.
I will probably choose it later the prices are high even for a 1660 super for the 1080p I will see later.
From what I understand the 1660 super is perfect for 1080p but I want to wait to see what is better to choose.

Workbench 3.xx is more than enough to emulate amiga with winuae
when I got the 4.1FE I bought it together with amigaforever and I would hardly have bought it individually to try it.
But I liked it right away and so I continued to use it.
And now I hope to be able to use it as I once did with 3.xx
I chose the 5800x to avoid overclocking and similar choices should be more than enough also from what I could understand if you overclock you lower the frequency of the single-thread speed but today 60fps are more than enough and enough for me.

Here you can see the ryzen 5600x with a simple geforce 960 using rpsc3 it seems more than enough even using only the geforce 960.

I guess you will have a good time.

For the 4.1FE thanks anyway, I will have the opportunity to try it as soon as possible I hope to get the desired results.
Now I've also read about voodo3 (hopefully) Toni is great.
I also made some small donations even if I don't understand why they don't appear in my "nickname" but it doesn't matter.
With your current setup you will have a lot of fun :-)

Whoah! That's Pricey, and YOLO isn't correct at all. I looked at this CPU but my budget just cannot do it, not in these times anyway. Most AMD Ryzen stuff is out of stock here. Not even Amazon has it. I am hoping for a new Firmware BIOS update for MSI X570 also. Mine has some problems with booting, but once it does..it's gooooood to go.

It's not pricey at all, actually. It beats Intel's top-end processors which are nearly 2x more expensive. For this performance bracket it's a bargain.

AMD's RRP is 300USD, I paid ~380USD. It seems like a big mark-up, but when I read a bit more about it, apparently these RRPs never really materialize at the resellers (same with NVidia GPUs). So, it is what it is.

As for YOLO, well, I've been buying/building PCs and consoles since the late Eighties. There wasn't a single time I'd waltz into a shop and pay full RRP for something current - a perennial bargain, second hand/third gen, cheap-o hunter. I think I'm allowed to forget about penny pinching this one time.

Besides, the market being as wild as it is, it's not even such a bad investment. I will most likely sell this rig when I go travelling after Covid, and I don't think the prices will be much lower even then (as was normally the case some years ago).

I got the ryzen 5800X 2 days ago but on the same day it seems incredible the geforce 970 stopped working (I can't believe it) while I was using the old system to move data and make backups of everything the geforce 970 started making lines strange and then she died definitively :-(
Let's move on which is better (I had a geforce 750ti that I immediately mounted) otherwise I could not have tried the ryzen.
Now I have to get a video card probably the geforce 1660 super for a 1080p monitor I think is excellent (any advice is welcome).
Back to winuae, I was finally able to test 4.1FE with ryzen
now everything works very quickly for example e-uae with the killing ground is perfect in my opinion the other applications are also very good.
Sore note:
Odyssey now opens instantly for example youtube in short, it works well but the resolution limit of 1024x768 remains stable for all types of video compression on youtube.
Beyond this resolution it starts to slow down or sometimes it is faster and others it is slower.
I tried the cpu by default and also bringing all eight processors to with a fixed cpu ratio to 46.50 without doing any specific overclocking only by increasing the cpu ratio, beyond the benchmarks they restart the system and the cpu does not hold up. (I haven't seen how to overclock well done yet.
But I don't care that much (certainly not 200mhz more to make a difference).
leaving everything by default in the bios the cpu reaches 4850mhz but only on some cpu

In summary now the 4.1FE works as I wanted
Probably for Odyssey it is perhaps a limitation of the uaegfx driver not optimized to go beyond 1024x768 or the internet bandwidth is limited for the use of, for example, youtube and watching movies.
It would be interesting to have more information on this.

Ok that's all, thanks for any suggestions and I hope it will be useful for someone.

here the quick benchmark:
corrected all the parameters of the bios the performances for odyssey remain however at 1024x768 very fluid even reaching 5ghz
perfect performance with local applications of 4.1FE

Ryzen 5000 Performance

Got my 5950x in time for Christmas and ran the benchmark again. It is running 100% stock/default - No PBO or anything. Not even XMP (or is it called DOCP for Ryzen) enabled... When system is fully tuned, will repost, but for now:

Running ByteMark from Aminet. WinUae set to 030/MMU/882 - NO JIT:

1660 Super seems a weird card - used GTX 1080 costs half as much and performs much better.

I also have to buy a graphics card
I currently use a 750ti
the 970 broke down.
The difference with the 1080 is second hand and used
The 1660 super is under warranty if you buy new this is important
I found a 980ti for 100 euros but it is always used I have to think about it
but I don't think I'll take it.
Prices are high I have to think about it.
Truly a great misfortune I would have waited for a long time if the 970 didn't break

I've been buying used cards (well, used everything, really) since forever, never had anything fail me yet. If you buy from sellers with good ratings who describe the product's history in detail, show benchmarks, etc, the chances of failure are low. The quality computer gear is built to last, and if anything breaks it's usually in the first month or two.

It is still a gamble, of course, but given the big price/performance discrepancies it's worth taking, in my opinion.

I'm looking into it. Though I really like the 3600, it's doing very well with WinUAE and BD Rebuilder which are the 2 main reasons I went Ryzen. WinUAE is quicker with this.. However, I'm unimpressed totally with MSI. I got the MPG X570 Gaming Plus because of the budget price but the thing does Not always post past power on. I often have to turn it off (PSU) and then on again, and then press Power..3 to 4 times before it kicks in. I've contacted MSI but I haven't gotten any real help. I understand Covid times..but Zero help within warranty?

This is my first interactive BIOS Motherboard. If it would power on each time..I'd give a big things up. I'll send another Email to them..maybe I'll get something worth while.

You're using it differently than I've heard for many, many years. Anyway, I agree penny pinching is silly. But then, so is the You Only Live Once..I can attest that that is not true..as well as so many others. Buy what you're able to, enjoy it! I won't go with MSI anymore..if they continue to shrug people off. I'll go back to ASUS or...some other. I don't care about the gaming part, or the "Pretty lights" on the Motherboard, I cared about extra uuummpphh and USB 3.1 that is actually that speed!

This is why I'm considering.. Looking at the market, and once things start coming around again, and money is flowing again the prices will go UP. So...pondering.
