Cyberstorm PPC hardware mod: 060@72MHz/PPC@396MHz

Might be interesting for someone:

[ Show youtube player ]

What I must do is to put clean AOS system because my system is gets very "dirty" over last years
Once I will do so I will run some benchmarks to see what is the speed increase.

And I hope to get x6 multiplier working to break 400MHz barrier

I wonder if it will be possible to turn a Cyberstorm MKIII into a CSPPC for reasonable money.

At least the other direction works, so why not that way too. Easily double the value of your turbo. :-)

Never tried this.
But I'm afraid that if it's technically possible (I think it is) the cost will be too high...

Isn't that what the PPC Developer board did?

Would be very cool if someone could do this, although it would be very difficult. Pitty so few have seen the light of day
That onto the 2060 was also such a cool thing that one guy did (http://www.8bit.dk/pictures/Project/...PPC/index.html)

Gratz once more Stanislaw.

Not that I remember. I believe it converted a Cyberstorm MKII (or a Blizzard 2060) into a PPC.

The Cyberstorm MKIII _IS_ a Cyberstorm PPC with several components not fitted.

Yeah I haven't ever checked the boards. They are indeed the same except some components missing. Enlightening Alexh thx.

Yup, I thought of this possibility too. It should be possible. Maybe it has a different firmware, but even that should not be a problem.

I'd love to toy with something like that, if I had a Cyberstorm MKIII and some spare components around

Oh, and something for BGA, too
