A1200 keyboard problem
Hi all,
I've just developed a weird problem with my A1200. When I power on the computer and go into the boot select in ROM - I can toggle my keyboard CAPS LOCK (so I'm assuming the keyboard is working). However after I boot from floppy or HDD the keyboard locks up on me. I cannot toggle the CAPS LOCK, I cannot type anything. I can however do the three finger salue and reboot. I've swapped keyboard with a 'parts' A1200 I've got sitting around but still the keyboard doesn't respond. I'm hoping this is just because of the unusually hot weather we're currently having, but does anyone have any help/suggestions please? Regards, Gizmomelb |

Keyboard controller or CIA chip.. The keyboard mechanism itself will rarely exhibit this kind of behaviour in an A1200, it either works or it doesn't.

Assuming caps-lock works doesn't mean the whole keyboard works.
Opening my A1200 the green wire keyboard easily disconnected. Bad or partial re-connection to main board caused low intensity light for caps-lock or one or more keys no working. Try to disconnect, to clean and to re-insert FIRMLY the green wire keyboard... perhaps this could be your solution too. |
