Amigakit Mouse tracking problems
With my recent order from Amigakit, I also picked up one of their mice.
http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/...roducts_id=174 The mouse works fine except sometimes it doesn't respond correctly when you are moving the mouse about. Its like when its gummed up and the rollers aren't moving. I popped the ball out the bottom and besides a little dust (which I cleaned off), it looks like new. Has anyone else ran into this issue with this mouse? |

Sorry to hear of your problem.
Now, the age old questions..... Do other mice work as expected? Did you plug it in whilst the Amiga was powered on? |

Sadly I don't currently have any other mice to test with.
And no, I didn't plug it in while the machine was turned on. I know better than that. Sometimes the mouse works fine, other times its just kinda acts like the rollers on the inside are just dirty. Typical ball mouse style issue. |

While not slagging AmigaKit...that is a sh*t mouse!
I've got one & oddly enough, the only one of my Amigas it tracks well with is the CD32...works like garbage with everything else Bad mouse, not AmigaKit's fault. PZ. |

If he only bought it recently and he is not happy, then he should contact Amigakit. Maybe the mouse is intermittently faulty. |

This mouse is really bad. Its due to small diameter of rollers. It means smaller space is in contact with ball. big rollers (as ie. in classic tank mouse) are definitelly better.

Sorry to hear of your problems with the mouse- the unit you received was from our new stock - if there is any problem, it is covered with a 1 year warranty.

Nah, no sense in shipping it back to you considering how inexpensive it was. I was just curious if other folks had similar experiences. Plus, just gives me a reason to order a Cocolino from you! |

Yeah, definitely the mouse... sometimes gently bending the sensors closer to the plastic sprocket can help a bit, but I've owned several of those and none worked correctly.

I see an excuse for hardware testing!
Give them all a run & let us know. As for Amiga mice, there is a guy who sells A600-type ones in batches on eBay.com.au for around $18 a piece every 6 months or so & they work great! He also included an A4000D-type with my last order...not as comfortable to hold, so I'm wearing it out through use first! PZ. |

Hmm... I grabbed em off that ebay guy, they looked like the ones above. I didn'y pay 18 dollars either, I would have grabbed them from the first batch he posted. I'll test em some day.... |

This is what the ones he usually sells look like...very different indeed:
Maybe we are talking about a different seller? As for the actual mouse type that Thgill is having problems with, these seem to be quite abundant. Does anyone know, are they something still currently produced, under licence from Amiga Inc. perhaps? PZ. |

I have a Logic3 Amy mouse and it is also an incredible piece of crab!! I have studied those little things inside the mouse that regognize the movement and if those thingies are even a SLIGHTLY in a wrong potition the tracking becomes a nightmare.
I still use an original COMMODORE mouse! |
