Not a game, but a company name ;)
Hey all,
I'm having trouble deciding on what the below should say, so any help would be appreciated. Screenshot is from Arcade Pool. Thanks edit: I keep seeing "Anten", and I've also had "Amiga" suggested. |

I think its "Antea" as the last letter is not wide enough to be another "N".

Something like "Anter".
The last letter can't be an "n" because the curve is on the opposite side. What's the game? |

I think Anteri.
The game is by Mario Savoia, which is surely an Italian name. Anteri is a valid Italian word meaning "anthers". An anther is a part of a plant that contains pollen. |

It looks more like "antitesi" in Italian, which is "antithesis" in English and means the complete opposite of something.
EDIT - sorry, forgot to mention that abelthorne has already suggested this! |

I agree Antitesi looks a strong possibility. I can at least make the word out of the graphics, and the word itself means something.
I'd really like a confirmed result though. Does anyone have any sort of current/old contacts at Team 17 ? I've heard they're not particularly friendly to emails asking questions about their Amiga days. |

Cody got in touch with a few Team 17 persons last year, for the article that appeared in APoV #1. The subject matter of the interviews was almost exclusively Amiga, so I guess they are still happy to talk about their Amiga days.
That's all the help I can offer. I don't personally have any contact with anybody Team 17, I'm afraid. Shame Cody's away for the weekend, really. |

I know the Team17 guys, but none of them will know/care. You'd need to find the original programmer.

anwer, anweri or anwesi
Just thought I'd throw in my verdict - either ANWER or ANWERI or ANWESI. 2 other people at work (non Amiga people I might add) also think it is one of those.
I just can't see why the artist would make the AN part so wide then squash the TIT part together at the end. Ditto for the ESI part! It just seems wrong, even though the word may exist in Italian. Remember Psygnosis is not actually a word either so it doesn't have to mean anything. Anwer could be the guys grandfathers name for all we know! |

I've finally got in touch with Arcade Pool's programmer, Mario, and asked this question.
abelthorne is correct. The logo reads "antitesi" in Italian (which is "antithesis" in English). |
