How to test accelerator
Hi
I have a 1200 with an accelerator board, but no mouse, the HD is also temperemental and reports block errors. I have no workbench disk. Is it possible to test whether the accelerator is installed by holding down any of the keys on powering up? Thanks |

if you hold and keep held down both mouse buttons down on bootup you get an option screen where you can view the name of installed cards -it also confirms if they are "ok".
I don't know what level of "checking" it does. |

I found this courtesy of a post by LP on Amiga.org - it might work, failing that you probably want to find a mouse. p.s beware I have seen smoke come out of an Amiga with another platform's (BBC?) mouse inserted. D = Directional keys (Cursor keys) Amiga = The key(s) with the Amiga logo on Alt = The button that says "Alt" L = Left (To explain wich of the Alt buttons to use) R = Right Amiga + D = The pointer moves in the selected direction Shift+Amiga + D = As above but in big steps LAlt+Amiga = One Left mouse-button click RAlt+Amiga = One Right mouse-button click The button clicks needs to be kept pressed down if you navigate in menus etc. And of course dubble hitted when dubble clicking on eg. icons... |

Thanks, I will try that. I will also try to obtain a mouse at some point, having got rid of my original amiga collection some years back.

I ran showconfig:
BOARDS: Board + ROM (HD?) (unidentified) : Prod=8512/17 ($2140/$11) Does this indicate the board is fitted and working? I have no way of testing it. Thanks. |

That ID belongs to:
Blizzard 1230 IV Blizzard 1240 ERC & 1260 Look at early startup, it should show board as "working" |
