Ok, so I'll report to jotd this truble, and I'll ask him even to support the TOSEC version 2.0e working without the riddle bug. Do you think we have to report to SPS that their 2.0e version is not good and they must replace it with the working TOSEC one?

As far as we are concerned the disk is bug free and duplicated and how it was sold.
If the game has a bug it is none of our concern. It is HOW it was SOLD by the PUBLISHER. Our concern is to preserve games in their original form. So if said publisher sells a game riddled with bugs, but we have the disks preserved as they were sold the game is good from a preservation standpoint. You get the exact same experience with the paying customers of the game at the time Many games have bugs - including the ones sold just now -, you just simply are not aware of most of them. Also, it is extremely unlikely that we'd replace a digitally preserved original game with an adf dump from tosec. If however you do have an *original* of the game that you believe is working, please do not hesitate to contact us. |

Well, it's preservation as is.
Think about it this way: even if you say don't think a particular picture is very nice, and you think it could be enhanced with a few additional strokes... most people would prefer the original version. Now the various versions of games are slightly different: they are more similar to records or books. Some people (collectors) would only go for a 1st edition or for one that has some special attribute, while others would go for a version that sounds the best, or is hard cover and so on. We try to cover all versions if it is known that they exist, but the primary version covered is almost always the original, 1st print. It was actually helpful you noticed that though, as it turned out that there is another verison of the game - still marked as 2.0E probably to cover up some fixed code Luckily the compilation time is included with all and tells a different story: v1.8 7.6.90 (#524) v2.0e 24.7.90 (#1589) US/v2.0e 17.10.90 #secret v2.0e 17.10.90 #secret |

YES!!! It's the same I found as TOSEC! This is the right version, the LOF file (the main executable) is dated 17-oct-90!!!! So, do you plan to release it as "correct" ("alternate"? it's USA only?) SPS image?

There is an EU and there is an US version. They probably only differ in disk layout for real.
Both will be available. |

What should i check? Both games have nothing to do with each other, Denis. The development of FGoD starts probably earlier (1986) than the LoF project.

I found an English manual upped on this fan site: http://dungeony.rpghry.cz/fate/ but there is no mention about Legend of Faerghail.

the "wrong monster bug" is a slave error I think. That's when I tried to fix an access fault.
