Last Ninja (1)

Did an Amiga version of this game ever exist? It's not in HOL, but the Atari ST version was written.

An Amiga version was initially planned in the late 1980s. It eventually materialised as Ninja Remix at the end of 1990 (a few months after the dire Amiga conversion of Last Ninja 2). On 8-bit platforms Ninja Remix was based on Last Ninja 2 (e.g. C64, Spectrum), whereas on the Amiga and Atari ST it was based on Last Ninja 1. I have to wonder if the gameplay changed at all in the ST release of Ninja Remix in 1990 compared to the 1988 release of LN 1?

Edit: FromWithin beat me to the punch!

On the Atari ST there is both The Last Ninja (1988) and Ninja Remix(1990).

I wonder too if there is any difference other than the surround gfx. It appears they were both done by the same people. The graphics look identical.

It seems strange that there were more for the ST than the Amiga.
Not so strange when you consider that the Atari ST was a bigger market than the Amiga in 1988. Software houses were probably happy to pay an external development team to do both ST and Amiga conversions of a game, but loathe to pay out separately for an Amiga conversion per se if ST coders were unable/unwilling to do one. I imagine not too many Amiga games outsold ST games back in 1988. Might have been the case with LN 1 for the Amiga. Could also be that the ST version of LN 1 sold poorly, so the Amiga version was scrapped. I guess only Mark Cale, John Twiddy et al can tell you for sure why.
