Created a Badlands.ipf that boots in NTSC! Other ones found online do not. From my original disk. In Da Zone.

I don't know where you keep finding all those NTSC releases of Amiga games but it is much appreciated. Have you come across an NTSC verison of Saint Dragon or Jungle Strike?

It's from some of my personal collection and also newly purchased games on eBay. Mostly North American/USA versions when I can.

Found the original disk of "Die Drachen von Laas", german version. Seems untouched. Made a SCP image with Greaseweazle. Did not find it in the SPS database, so i hope it helps. Can by found in the zone.

The SCP looks OK as all tracks appear index-aligned, pity the English version never got released though!

Uploaded Readysoft The 64 Emulator 2 raw stream to the zone. I don't have an A500 or A2000 to test the disk. The image seems to stop at track 15 in Winuae when run as an scp. IDK if denis or Abbadon can fix it or not?

Sounds promising. I have done 4 or so dumps and they all seem the same. I've cleaned the disk too. I can dump tracks if needed.

Once game music starts playing, Copylock routine is at address $2ab66, and someone has clearly cracked it, the Copylock has been bypassed. moveq #4,d0 moveq #0,d1 lea $2ab64,a0 eori.l #$3c89612c,(a0) bra $2b464 ; Skip Copylock Also the NTSC check in the game to stop it working on NTSC machines has been removed $2b4e6 is now NOP when before it would BLT $2b4e6 Specifically they've taken the Skid Row crack with the NTSC fix by Paradox, and re-edited the two text strings Skid Row changed. Oddly they've used a European Original disk as the Copylock track is present, but is never accessed. Last edited by Galahad/FLT; 03 April 2024 at 21:49. |

Creating your own IPFs
That’s weird. It’s from a original disk from a boxed game I have. I did buy it used off eBay. No other version I’ve downloaded boots on NTSC
So I can make an ADF and it will work? I’ll give that a try |

It could have been a late decision to do a separate NTSC release and they didn't want to pay Teque to do a specific version, so someone has gone into the code and cracked it, if they had access to the source, they could have simply removed the copylock completely and reassembled to disk. |

Here is the results of the decoder...looks like there are a few bad tracks
T0.0: AmigaDOS Long Track (106600 Bits) T0.1: The C64 Emulator T1.0-14.0: The C64 Emulator V2 T14.1-16.0: Unformatted* T16.1: The C64 Emulator V2 T17.0-18.0: Unformatted* T18.1-19.1: The C64 Emulator V2 T20.0: Unformatted* T20.1-79.1: AmigaDOS Long Track (106600 Bits) T80.0-83.1: Unformatted ** WARNING: 8 tracks are damaged or unidentified! If I use -P 1 option, I can decode all but 20.0 T0.0: AmigaDOS Long Track (106600 Bits) T0.1: The C64 Emulator T1.0-19.1: The C64 Emulator V2 T20.0: Unformatted* T20.1-79.1: AmigaDOS Long Track (106600 Bits) T80.0-83.1: Unformatted ** WARNING: 1 track is damaged or unidentified! Hopefully you have a cleaner dump, but with the Phase adjust option I can create a working version even with a bad track 20.0 Tracks 19.0 and 19.1 are identical 38 ffd6df2c 39 ffd6df2c If it is anything like v1 then 20.0 should also be identical to 19.0 and 19.1 V1 Cheksums 18.0-20.0 are identical 36 aafe1670 37 aafe1670 38 aafe1670 39 aafe1670 40 aafe1670 Track 20.0 could be bad, empty, or has a different sync than what the emulator code calculates. I can upload the IPF with the bad track 20.0 if you like. The track is never accessed and the emulator works (just as poorly as v1). The config is set to 10 for adf access, but can be change using ctrl+help. |

Visually, T20.0 is different to 19.0 when viewed with HxC track view. The stream file dump and the later uploaded T20.0 are again visually the same when viewed with HxC. T20.0 looks like a flakey GCR track to me but I don't know it like a pro. Is the standard not 9 for df0: when loading? an IPF would be write protected and it would be nice to see an IPF with the official settings of course. |

the 68000 lock is the worst thing imo; i like how it almost always reach to run the games, SLOW and glitchy but without crashing, unlike ie the later released go-64 or A64; strange that in the v2 manual is written that the emulator can work also on 68020 (despite no speed gain btw), but it doesn't, at least with my tests with the cracked version Last edited by kremiso; 04 April 2024 at 11:24. |
