Where Can I buy Sega Pads?

Hi all, I'm new here :-)

Every christmas time the family gets out the classic amiga 1200 for some retro sneech , SWOS and dynoblaster action but every year when the day comes we all groan cos the controllers are all knackered and annoying and the player with the gamepad always ends up winning grrr

Anyway, this year I am going to be prepared

So I am asking if anybody knows where I can get hold of an SMS pad (the square one with two buttons ideally) and what sort of price I am looking at?

Well i use a Megadrive pad on my Miggy 600, i bought it for about £5 off of Amazon UK Marketplace. Including postage. You could try looking on their for a Megadrive/Master System pad, eBay is also worth a look as Fitzsteve said.

I know there are some issues with 6 button pads, i think they work, but only certain buttons.

Mine is a 3 button pad, the D-Pad works as the up, down, left, right on a joystick, the B and sometimes C buttons works as the fire button, Start and A buttons dont do anything it seems. Although i've only played it with games that use Joystick, never played an Amiga game that uses a Pad, not sure if there are any. But there'll be someone else who can give you more info on a 6 button pad.

EDIT: Looked up an old thread i made, from what i can gather, the 6 button pad does work, but as with the 3 button pad, only 2 of the buttons on it actually work, A and B by the looks. But it appears to work as well as the 3 button one for games.

CD32 pad still seems to be a favourite, but im not sure on price, and if you own a SEGA Megadrive then using its controller on more than 1 platform is brilliant. I wish they had made 360/PS3 controller interchangable.

i use either a cd32 pad or a sega master system pad however they were known as wobbly pads but i still prefere them to a joystick. ed the arcade power stick is a good one for the amiga as well with turbo buttons as well Dave

Sega pads work a treat! I just hauled one out of storage to plug into my A1200T after stumbling across an old copy of Alien Breed - Tower Assault (YAY!! ).

Never realised this before, but the '3' button (or the 'C' button on some pads) activates the 'retreat mode' so you can run backwards while lasering the scales off the nasties!!

Go on, give AB-TA a bash!! You know you'll love it

i use this on my A1200

it has a flat design, solid feel and auto-fire for all buttons,



i cant recommend it enough, i have used one for years

infact i have just bought another one for my daughter, we like a game of wiz n liz!

yeah it makes ABTA a lot easier, i have been playing it recently and seem to get further than ever before... the graphics are really good and varied, the detail is pretty good too

not to mention the various routes you can take, ABSE92 was my favourite but ABTA is steadily replacing it
