Heya guys,

What ever happened to "1.7" and one with 2 players support "1.8"? Did this ever make it anywhere for people to download? I presume both versions are AGA only?

Anyway, tonight I did a very quick and dirty job on the archive "FFAGA_ALPHA1.5 [select quickstart model a1200].zip"...

.ADFs for people who don't use hard drives is now in The Zone!

You need to use the following configuration though in WinUAE (or real A1200);

... Quickstart A1200 - 4MB Fast RAM expanded configuration.
... Have Disk 1 in DF0: and Disk 2 in DF1:

Hi guys. I wasn't aware that this project was in the works. Pretty cool.

Is this a full version of the game or partially completed?

Tonight I've been playing around with the file spud uploaded to The Zone! back in February: ffecs [Leathered's FinalFightECS demo for BooBoo].lha

Anyway; made a small modification and now it's bootable / playable straight from WinUAE

Download the new file "FFECS.zip" from The Zone!

This game needs quite a lot of RAM and slows down a bit so set a configuration such as follows:
... 68020 CPU
... Full ECS chipset
... KS ROM v3.1 (A500,A600,A2000)
... 4MB Chip RAM

Then do the following:
... select "CD & Hard Drives"
... select "Add Directory or Archive..."
... select "Archive or Plain File"
... change to the path where you have saved "FFECS.zip" to, double-click the file and then select "OK"
... select "Start"

In this version the music is different and there are a few extra stages

1.8 (guy) Ok
1.8 (guy + haggar) screen graphical first menu is corrupt

The two versions have worked well with 68020 2MB CHIP + 2MB Fast

Started game by CLI (no startup-sequence)

But if someone want to have a look.

If you mean 2 players, Yes, it works, the character Cody seems you can not choose. I'm not good in games, I'm too old to play .
Now I do not know if it is a mistake, but I noticed that the second player and and some adversaries They are off the floor suspended in the air, see screenshots.

A bit off topic but related to Final Fight, i just bought today Retrogamer N°8.

And inside i learnt that Alan Butcher, the Zx Spectrum programmer of Final Fight for Creative Materials had the Arcade coin-op Assembler source code of Final Fight :

"We began to extract the graphics from the arcade roms. It could take time to learn how the sprites were stored. I've been given a printed listing of the original code in assembler, for the conversion. I was delighted because i didn't had to play during hours and hours just to understand everything. It was not easy all the time, since the comments and the labels (in the source code) were in Kanjis !"

So basically, when Richard got his hair pulled off and away because he only had access to the arcade board, Butcher had handy the printed source code of Final Fight arcade from Capcom !!!

Just amazing to learn that in 2016 !

I had a quick glance at the source. Here's the saddest code comment I have ever read:

"Final Fight engine 2012-15 AMIGA 1200 version
Work started in the weeks running up to my son being born
March 2012."

As I currently have a lot of spare time on my hands... today I created a bootable .HDF that contains all versions of leathered's Final Fight:

With "FFAGA Alpha v1.8" there is no music even though all the directories / files are there. Guess he left this out...

One small thing, with "FFECS" the title screen looks like this when running on an AGA chipset; the game is fine though:

If running "FFECS" with the correct ECS chipset the title screen looks like this:

Anyway, for those that want it this .HDF, it's on the EAB File Server under the directory "~Uploads/DamienD/HDFs"

Use an AGA 2MB Chip & 8MB Fast RAM configuration...
