Find that conector... (RS or Farnells)
It's the bottom of a CSA Mega Midget Racer, and it fits into a 68000 socket. Below the PCB it measures 12mm - 2mm in plastic, then 6mm round with 1mm or so diameter, dropping down to small diameter for 4mm. It's soldered onto the PCB so I guess there's a 2mm on top of the plastic too Any help finding a part gratefully received. I need 2 lots of 4 in a row. Many, many thanks! |

You can buy strips of those which you cut to length. All you need is the pitch

Pitch is 2.54mm - forgot to mention that.
Any idea what it's called Alex? I've searched for turned pin, brass, connector, header and get too many results. I do have standard headers in my parts bin, but that won't fit in the 68000 socket (I know this is spoon feeding, but I'm stuck!) |

It's that these pins look terribly similar to those:

Hello,
It is funny, I used this kind of connectors few days ago at work. It is called header strip. Here is a datasheet from Mill-Max: http://www.mill-max.com/images/products/pdf/061m.pdf Digikey has some in stock : 64-pin header strip, gold plated, expensive ! Here are the P/N: 342-10-164-00-591000 342-10-164-00-592000 342-10-164-00-593000 342-10-164-00-594000 In your case, one is enough (cut it in half). They are a b**ch to align during soldering. My advice is that you insert the other end into a DIL socket while soldering. Good luck fixing your board. Regards, Frederic |
