Amiga Forever 2008 Released 31.05.2008

Amiga Forever 2008 is the most significant upgrade ever released in the Amiga Forever series. It sets new references in usability while more than tripling the featured content and providing easy access to a universe of free downloads.

Purchase it from offical site; http://www.amigaforever.com or http://amikit.amiga.sk .

Amiga Forever has always been a very nice package for any Amiga fans returning to the scene and just starting to get into emulation for the first time. Especially with the licensed kickstart roms included.

This new 2008 edition has some great updates and additions. Many argue that this package isn't worth the price when most of the contents can be obtained for free, however I think some of the parts such as Amiga Explorer, KXLight and the licensed kickstart roms are worth the price. However I don't think this latest release is really worth the upgrade price for anyone who already owns an older copy of the 2005/6 editions.

On the website, it says "including all (1.0-3.X) ROM and Workbench versions". Does it really mean this (ie. every ROM and workbench version for every machine) or is it just the usual token selection of 1.3, 2.0, 3.0, and 3.1?

If the former, rather than the latter, it would certainly be worth buying, I think.

Also, from another thread, I believe it contains the ROM from the CD32 FMV card.

Steve.

No, it doesn't include every rom for every variation of each model, just as you say the token selection of each key rom version.

Yes i bought it also, since i already owned Amiga Forever 2006 Premium Edition i only had to buy Amiga Forever 2008 Plus Edition for a reduced price and i could download it right away for amigaforever.com.

Best of all was i could pay it with the "iDEAL" banking method, if you live in The Netherlands its really nice and quick instant payment.

I love that new player, if i was not mistaken it actually detects the configuration itself somehow when loading an ADF file into it.

Indeed, it tries its best to detect the best configuration. And you can run an ADF file just by double-clicking it, so it's almost unnecessary to go to the WinUAE configuration.
Almost, because the default graphics mode is 720x480 and it's hard to detect whether a certain piece of software makes use of overscan or not.

All in all, AF 2008 Premium kicks ass for me as well

I've tried to get down to translating it, but I just don't have enough time on my hands Too bad for Kubica, I guess

If anyone else feels like translating it, please feel free to do it.

This is what I like about this release - so easy and simple to use, no more faffing about

I've only spent 5 - 10 minutes on it after I installed it the other day (my laptop HDD blew up the other week)

Fantastic release though - well worth the pennies - I got the Plus Edition as I've got the DVD's from last year
