Are we likely to see any new 060 accelerators for the A1200 in time for Xmas?
I’ve been keeping an eye on the news page of icomp for any updates but there’s nothing so far. Does anyone know if we’re likely to see a release of new 060 accelerators from any firm before Xmas so I know if I need to include it on my letter to Santa this year?

I know the guys from CS Labs are shooting for Xmas availability on their Warp accelerators. Wether they make it or not, that is just another story.

Maybe I’ll add one to my birthday list instead for the summer of 2020. I’m sure they’ll be worth the wait.

It's also still unclear if and when Individual (Jens) comes with his 060 cards.

It drove a full-HD screen and played Quake more smoothly than my PC did back in the day. It's a very tempting proposition for the RTG aspect alone, which is difficult to add to an A1200 unless it's towered or with the unobtanium CyberVision.

Vampire is almost a computer in itself, put inside an Amiga. A true 68060 for A1200 is way more interesting, in my opinion, and that's what the thread was about.

you could buy a vampire, not connect the digital output , or ide controller and just use the fast cpu on it. does not stop the rest of the amiga working, or so I believe. So its valid ? And this is coming from someone who has a blizzard ppc, bvision and fast-a ata lol |

I just happened to check the icomp webpage and saw this tantalising news:

I'd love to have a 68060 accelerator for my A1200, but it really, really, really needs a software/firmware way to temporarily turn it off (ideally by simply holding a button on boot like the Blizzard 1230MK IV I have now). Too much software that doesn't like even a 68030 with Fast Memory, let alone a 68060.
That said, that link kind of hypes me - looking good! |

Is there any idea yet of what these 060 boards are likely to cost.
My gut feeling is probably about £300 for the TF360 and that'll be the cheapest of the bunch by a long way. I do stress thats a complete off the cuff comment but I just have a feeling thats the magic number. I can see the ACA 060 for the 1200 being at least £400 if not £500 |
