cdtv vid probs

hello there i was trying to use the scart out from the rgb port on cdtv and it doesnt work without the video board in the back does anyone know why,and how do i bypass that board so rgb works without it cheers.

I imagine the video board completes the circuit between the motherboard and the 23-pin adapter

If that's the case... are you sure that it's actually outputting any video signal at all? And it's the CDTV gfx chip that's buggered and not the output board?

I have read somewhere that the RGB port will absolutely not work without an installed video card. You can still find some new. I bought a Genlock card from this guy:

who wants $37 for a Genlock or $57 for a regular US spec card. It works great. Of course you could probably get a whole CDTV for that on ebay if you were patient...

I have made purchases from oldsoftware.com, and I've found he's a good communicator and very reliable, if a little expensive.
