Yet another amiga website (planned)

Hi guys,
i really need your help on this ...
Back in 2000, i launched a website named Mightygamers.de which had it focus on amiga games, public domain, amiga music in mp3 and articles / reviews. We were about ten people working on this site and we have had the chance to place our website on the cover cd of the german PC Joker issue 10/11 - 2000. Unfortunately, i had reviews of games on this page, which stood on the Index at that time.
Several attempts of relaunching the site made in 2001 and 2003 were not really successful.

A few weeks ago, i had the idea to sell my whole equipment (games, hardware), because i became lazy of that whole retro stuff.
For my luck, i overthought that idea, because i made that same error in 1995.

I really think to reopen that site, maybe under a different name.
So, there are many very good amiga sites around, what do you think?

Are you ready for just another amiga website? I should i focus on some different? As i currently work on that Boule-Website for my father, i just got the "fever" on that amiga online thing again.

I don´t want to create a substitute to existing sites, i don´t want to create any rivalry in the amiga community. So there will be no forum, because i really like this one.

In June its 10 years since the first launch of Mightygamers...
I guess its time to hit the road again.

PROS:

* webserver available
* Licences for vbulletin, phpprobid and several other applications available
* ideas (Swapshop, Gameshack)

CONS:

* many very good other websites
* i´m not a screen designer
* i´m not a web programmer

EDIT: There is a typo at option 4, it should mean "but" not "what"..

To put it bluntly, yes ! Before you even begin to start work on any section of the site, decide why people would specifically come to your site and no other.

There's far too many 'me-too' sites that end up just getting lost just because they don't have anything unique with their content, just a rehash of another website in slightly different clothes.

What about helping/joining one or several of these other websites?

I am not certain but I am pretty sure that some of them could use some help (for instance if their web designer is no longer available etc...).
It would perhaps not be as gratifying as re-launching your own website but that would be pretty useful I believe.

Hi guys,

thank you for your answers. To be a co-worker for another amiga-game-related web project is also an option, but i don´t see any options for this.

You are right, i should know what i can offer before i start to build up the project.
Its just the simple demand-offer-game.
I don´t want to create a rip-off of known projects, i´m fair enough to see that i don´t want any rivalry. So i need to find a niche for my project. I think i have some fresh ideas to add to the community, so we will see.
