Windowed mode works fine as well!
Pull the resolution slider ALL THE WAY to the right (i.e.752x576) and you won't have any graphical problems!
You will have to muck with "line doubling" settings, be it horizontal or vertical, though.

I use a laptop Toshiba Sat Pro 4600 700 mhz Celeron the sound is from a Yamaha AC XG Audio Device.

If any of that is of any use?
