You probably cannot forget this game...

Features:
A gloomy story.
The ultra complicated maze explodes your brain.
Unforgettable brutal gore in the battle traveling beyond time.
Its difficulty would make even "Nightmare mode of DOOM" players cry.
Darkness would become scary if once you get stuck in darkness levels.
The 4th dimension would make you mad easily.
A hidden "secret level" and "secret ending" would be presented to super players.

I know some people think that nittamituaki is insane or mad.
Sorry, next (3rd&4th) MODs would be also harder.
Next my challenge is "hardest boss ever made as FPS game".
Why? ...It is because *I* just want to create such a game with unforgettable bosses.
So please expect my 5th release if you would like to play "so-so" difficulty games.

Does this work with a mouse+keyboard combo like the way it's played on a PC with most FPS games? I would like to ask this before I start downloading the game.

Sorry it does not work as "combo".

We can play the game as
"controller only" or "keyboard only" ( or "mouse only") .

Personally "mouse" is not recommended when we play "Gloom" series...
(Mouse causes strange controls.)

I find some of the environments very suggestive, however have a question since i don't know how versatile is the gloom engine: how hard is to remove the ceiling texture and replace it with a picture or a skybox in case?

I'm sorry if I'm misunderstanding your English.
So you don't like the sky texture of now version a bit, do you?
Yes, to be honest I myself think that it must have been better.

"Replacing ceiling texture" itself is very easy.
But it matters whether we are satisfied with a new result.

Gloom engine loads a ceiling texture from 128px*128px iff file.
Here is the sky texture in 1995 maze.


It gives 2 issues:
1. It is very difficult to express "clouds".
And we should pay careful attention to edge,
otherwise a strange (silly) issue would occur as following:


2. At this time Gloom Deluxe engine cannot show various "light blue" color.
To solve this issue, perhaps we should edit misc/palette,remap files.
Unfortunately now we don't know how to do.

no, it was more a technical question: the sky is fine as is

however, to add a better rolling of pattern let me suggest this:
you may need to import on photoshop or another advanced paint program your sky texture, apply a "rectangular to polar filter" (photoshop: distort/polar coordinates)




so to have the picture wrapped as a circle, fix the junction...



then bring back to normal the image with the reverse "polar to rectangular" filter;


this unless is gloom engine itself to mess up the edges... :/

of course, if you want to stay all-amiga you can either use an old PS in shapeshifter, else i have no idea whether ArtEffect had this filter...

Ultimate Maze: Wanker's Dream

There's a couple of issues with the name, Wanker = asshole, Wanker = Masturbation :-/

The other issue it should be Wankers Dream, as Wanker's is short for Wanker is. "Wanker is Dream" doesn't work ;-)

Anyway enjoyed the game, keep the work going. :-)

This game has a gloomy story.
So I am happy if players recognize that
the main actor(in this game) unfortunately had to be an onanist.
"Dream" is an illusion which the maze shows in darkness levels.
Yes, I know this word should be avoid originally.
At least commercial title (by famous company) would probably avoid.
I know there is many MAZE games as Amiga PD.
Only "Ultimate Maze" would cause lack of impact.

You mean that it is only case following? :

How about "Wankers' Dream" ?

Hi nitta, lurch was correct, but 's does not always mean "is" like he said.

Most of the times it is a possessive (as correctly explained by our friend TCD!), so "Ken's Apple" does actually "the Apple which is Ken's property".

By the way, excellent title - the fact that the main character is an onanist reminds me of a (kinda famous) doujinshi, Onanimaster Kurosawa

Ahh, okay that makes a lot more sense. Still can't get my head around the name wanker's dream in a game, sounds like another term for a different type of game ;-)

Gloom loads ceiling textures as following.

So I think you won't be satisfied with a new result by using even such utilities...

Wanking enemies or something probably make the game similar to "Immoral Cumbat".
That game seems a bit explicit, I think.
Just "imagine" about sexual situations... perhaps this is the spirit of 16bit era.



...So, how should I do about this sub title?
1. At least someone cannot consider " 's" as possessive case even if they are native speaker.
2. I suggest whether should I change the name as "Wankers' Dream".
3. Someone thinks that " 's " itself is no problem whatever the word is a bit offensive.

What about change to "Onanist's Dream".

"Wanker" is more commonly used as derogatory term, rather than describing somebody who masturbates..

Using "Wanker's Dream" is the same as something like "Asshole's Adventure", or "Dickhead's Delight"
