Yes, I bug tested this game throughout all betas and the trained version in my collection works perfectly with a "classic" Amiga configuration / setup

...and as you can see from this post, I clocked the game when there were 64 stages

You only need to use the new version if you have some non "classic", supped up OS, accelerator, JIT, blah, blah, blah...

Must say that my screenshots for "Campaign - Tactical & Strategic War Simulation" and "Campaign II - 50 Years of Global Conflict" were rubbish as I couldn't work out how to get into the action

...thanks to my friends at HOL, I've used some of theirs. Much better

So, just do the following:
  • Download / extract the attached archive into C:\WinUAE.

It will happen; work on my project will recommence at some stage in the future; it's definitely not abandoned... feeling a lot better about things / life in general than I was a few months back

...probably won't happen until after the European summer has ended though i.e. around September, as it's too nice to be stuck inside playing with computers.

On a side note; thanks for your support / encouragement... I guess this means you are enjoying my collection and appreciate all the hard work that's gone into it

Yeah, do keep it up, but there's plenty to be playing so take your time. Theres more important things anyway, like trying to round up more IPFs

As did I many years ago but unfortunately nothing last forever. I never expected to be in this situation at 41 and things to end without warning

...but it's not like life is over; you have to pick yourself back up and get out there; which is what I'm currently doing i.e. being super healthy, exercising multiple time per week, working on my tan etc.

They can all be put in hold while we have a maximum 3 months of sunshine my friend. Well, at least in Britain

...notice that I haven't asked again about fixing "Shadow Warriors"

No problem at all

...with yourself being quite new to the Amiga; this should help you find / play all of the classic (and then some) without any research / trouble

Ok now what I do?

I checked out Allo Allo and Ambermoon and they want me to insert disk #2.

Uh, what disk and where are they?

Thanks.

Ok, you are new to the Amiga / WinUAE so...

'Allo 'Allo! Cartoon Fun! only supports 1 disk drive.

Ambermoon supports 4 drives but to minimise disk swapping I've set these to begin with:

... DF0: = Ambermoon (1994)(Thalion)(Disk 01 of 10)(A).adf
... DF1: = Ambermoon (1994)(Thalion)(Disk 02 of 10)(B).adf
... DF2: = Ambermoon (1994)(Thalion)(Disk 07 of 10)(G).adf
... DF3: = Ambermoon (1994)(Thalion)(Disk 10 of 10)(J).adf

You should read the following, as detailed in post #2, where there's a lot of helpful information / answers to FAQ: Important Keys

Anyway, to swap disks in drives you have 2 options really (there's a 3rd i.e. Diskswapper but I won't overload you with information just yet):

Fastest method:
... Press <End> + <F1> to select DF0:, then navigate to C:\WinUAE\Games\<gamename> and double-click on the required .ADF.

Slower method:
... Press <F12> to bring up the WinUAE GUI.
... Navigate to "Floppy drives" and press the "..." next to the required drive.
... Navigate to C:\WinUAE\Games\<gamename> and double-click on the required .ADF.

Gotcha! I thank you again mate.

I see your pre setup for Ambermoon but mine went a little different. It asked for D then I then G and finally J before I stopped playing.

I'm learning how this is working now. It uses multiple disks. Cool.

thanks again mate.

All the below disks are inserted into the drives at startup as it's the best method I found to minimise disk swapping with this game

As you can see, disks "G" & "J" are already in drives... When it asks you for disk "D" just put this into DF0:, it will load for a bit, you will then be asked for disk "I" so again put this into DF0: and then you're playing

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can use the "Disk swapper" if you like, as all the disks have been inserted into slots:

Again, see the Important Keys for how to use

Finally, this is probably one of the most important things you need to note:

  • Set "Floppy Drive Emulation Speed" to "800%" (which works fine for 95% of games).
  • Toggle "Warp" mode on / off i.e. <End> + <Pause>.
