A post that's certainly fitting for such a milestone... hope my 1,000th is as memorable as that

Blimey...

What a milestone, and what a post!

Although... someone really needs to delete some off topic posts...

Klax as a game is so forgettable that I have to look up what the heck it is; any time its name gets mentioned.

(Poll is still open, if you want to vote.)

It's a cutesy arcade game from the Atari era, why not. It won't hold my attention for more than 15 minutes though, these games for me are the "let's have a quick go in between" type. But I like how it has just enough game mechanics to allow for some strategy and planning (stacking blocks on your pad) while still being so simple to pick up that you don't need any instructions to understand what to do.

I remember the first time I learned Klax existed, I saw it on the TV. I was moderately impressed by how smoothly the stones would roll towards the screen.

I've always found it supremely irritating for no other reason than the silly name. So, quite memorable Played it recently and it seems complex enough, so its popularity was at least justified.

Update: I've just played it on the CD32. IT's harder than the arcade version, although the gameplay is very smooth but the graphics are pretty crappy compared to the arcade game, which is a shame since the A500 could have totally used the eact same graphics as the arcade version if they had ported them over. IT was probably an ST port like most arcade games in the 80s and 90s.
My thinking exactly! Could have used 32 colors or maybe EHB, is just darn tiles going down a threadmill... anyone want to improve it?
But honestly, people, are you mind readers? Was watching a video of it yesterday!

I just spent the weekend on my Playstation. Are you absolutely sure it's not the 90s?

I bought Klax second hand (GBA) for my Nintendo DS. I think I bought it because Marble Madness was also on the cart.

Might have to change the game's opening words to:
"It is no longer the nineties."
"And there is still time for..."

My cousin had that C64 cartridge where the Klax was, and 3 more games.
Yeah well, Klax was nice for occasional play, here and there, but I played much more Fiendish Freddie - Big Top O' Fun, and Flimbo's Quest from the same cartridge.

Yeah, it was nineties, and it still is!
