Try the userport package to enable direct access to the parallel port under NT based Windowses.
Also try the search function on this board, this has been discussed before. |

Try Amiga Explorer. You need a serial cable (slow) or ethernet. Works like a dream in winXP.

I would try AmigaExplorer......if I had my nullmodem cable here. I don't.
And I've seen "userport" mentioned for "clearing up" the par-port under XP, but I've not been able to do so. I've tried the setup involving SETVER and stuff, no luck. YES!!!! I _HAVE_ searched the forums for threads about this before, but I've found NOTHING about setting it up to work under XP, at least nothing that works. That loooooong post with the "walkthrough for dummies" approach didn't work either. *sigh* I'll try DOSLFN with the XP-bootdisk............I can't be bothered to rename ALL 18GB of the TOSEC Games .29 or whwatever, to fit into 8.DOS standard....... *sigh* |

easier solution
Hi
i was going to do the same and gave up get yourself on ebay and buy a Compact Flash PCMCIA adaptor £3 then get yourself some memory dirt cheap now, eg 512mb less than £30 128mb probably a tenner then on your xp machine get one of those USB 7 in 1 or 20 in 1 card readers they are a bout £7 If i were you i would buy this as it comes with memory, driver disk and a doddle to setup, then get yourself a cheap card reader on the pc http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...189090865&rd=1 this is where i bought mine and chris is really helpful so i now have 512mb of ADF's on the amiga and use TSGUI to write back to floppy, easy peasy Rich |
