Hero Quest - Limited Edition?

Hi there, I just got an original of Hero Quest by Gremlin Graphics and noticed it has a "Limited Edition" sticker on the front of the box. It appears to be standard, any idea what it might refer to?

Possibly it did originally. Not now.

Sidebar - I wish they’d re-release this physical board game. I’m terrified of breaking out my old set in fear of ruining the character miniatures :P These things are too valuable now.

How’s the gameplay on Amiga?

I don't know the board game, but the Amiga version is supposed to be very close. It's a very nicely produced little game which is probably best played with friends rather than alone. A short review: http://www.angusm.demon.co.uk/AGDB/DBA1/HeroQ.html

Many moons ago one of my friends at the time fainted and fell on top of my Hero Quest game, breaking many of the miniatures. I have been on a 'quest' ever since to get another copy, or even a similar game, and there just aren't any out there, and the Hero Quest or Hero Quest Advanced are always more money on eBay than I'm willing to spend, or they're in bad condition, etc.

I played the video game on the ST way back when, and I want to say the Amiga / ST version may support MIDI out? I'll have to verify that, but they are pretty close to the board game for sure, and you can get the two main expansions for the board game on the computer.

There's only one expansion / data disk for HeroQuest as far as I know i.e. HeroQuest: Return Of The Witch Lord

There is the sequel though: HeroQuest II: Legacy Of Sorasil

You are correct; According to Moby Games, there was a standalone version, one with the expansion, and a second one (that apparently was only released on the Amiga / CD32!)
