works only on Amigas with Agnus 8371
No bug in the crack, but a mistake made by the programmer, Richard Aplin.
He corrected the mistake by releasing a second version, which has never been (re-)cracked, though.

I can play to a certain point. It's right at the end of the purple city level, just before you descend into the red underworld level.

You must access a computer terminal to activate the underground lift. It's in French, but it seems to be asking for "Page X, Word X". When you finish up with the terminal, you can't see your bullets, and you can't use your grapple. There are other bugs, too, but not using your grapple prevents you from playing much further.

I have a Defjam crack of this game that I've never seen in .adf format. Seems it now has a read/write error and any image I make won't work.

The versions I've tried are:

Quartex
The Company

I tried cutting and pasting over the error in a hex editor, but I don't know what I'm doing!

Anyone have any different versions? I could post mine to the zone, but it doesn't work...
Try these answers;
Line 2 Word 4 FORMS
Line 1 Word 10 PUZLES
Line 3 Word 7 ROPES
Line 8 Word 1 MACHINES
Line 3 Word 9 ARCADE
Line 3 Word 2 PLANET
Line 4 Word 4 AN
Line 3 Word 1 IS

That's all there is to it, no crack needed.

Here is another not working crack.(non tosec)
Maybe it is only the second disk that is problematic.
(maybe someone could check this with a IPF image)

I doubt BTTF2 is a cracking error, simple Copylock on that one.

and just telling us that a game isn't completeable does not help much!

We need to know what versions you are referring to so somebody can check

Seeing it compresses to 99% that is likely the case indeed...

Here's a link to my recent post in the "Fixing Flashback version.. Ongoing.." thread regarding the "English" version that bippym and jrom provided us:

http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=245213&postcount=75

Unfortunately it still has code protection screens that are not cracked properly on Disk 3 and probably Disk 4...

@ all: please use the template posted here http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=23024
if you want to tell about a bad crack. This will make it much more easy! We need at least a CRC or the exactly Tosec name after a rebuild with the latest(!) dats!

THE CRC is the ONLY way to go..

The names could quite possibly change as things are confirmed, fixed etc.. so please post the name & the CRC. If you can only supply the name please ensure you have scanned with the latest dats so the name will be named right!

Ooops, sorry guys

I should really know better, it was a quick post before I went out last night to meet some friends

I was going to do this now but should probably hold off as musashi9 has kindly been trying to address the issue.

Edit: no, I should probably do this now as after musashi9 plays around with the disks they will have a different CRC32...

As far as I am aware, NONE of the major groups got caught out by the 2nd Copy protection on Brian the Lion. I remember Hoodlum bragging about getting the 2nd check, and Mok said "well thats called cracking properly, something you guys rarely do!"
