Big grin For Sale - CD32 SX32 Expansion Module & HDD - Mint

For sale....

Amiga CD32 SX32 expansion module, in mint condition with box (tatty)

I only used this for about 6 months when I bought it new. After that, put into storage and been there since.

Comes complete with a factory fitted 120MB 2.5" hard drive (huge for the time)

I wouldnt get rid of it but I do not have my CD32 anymore. Due to this fact I can not test this, but it was working 100% before I took it out, but visually looking at it, there is no blown chips, arcing, etc.
There is no wear or scratching on the socket pins, Its not even dusty.
Its been stored in its original baggie with silica gel, in the box.

I joined here to offer it to you, hence new member but Im an old skool amiga user and still play my CD32 games on my pc. I know how rare they were at the time (I waited months to get one and I paid through the nose for it) and I know how much rarer they are now. So please only sensible offers.

As many pictures as you like on request.
I take paypal and for those interest they can have my ebay account name to check that I am a good seller

Thanks

dont think so, all the writing on the box is in German. But it doesnt have 'MK2' or 'Pro' anywhere on the box or board.

Is there any way to tell?

EDIT: Its not a pro, viewing the circuit board images online its the same as the non-pro. As to whether its a mark 1 or 2, Im still not sure.

Best Offer Wins.

its mark 1, but as I understand it (and im more than likely wrong) the mark2 only improved memory handling. I had a 4MB simm in this one and had no problems, some games even became faster (alien breed 3d etc.), I had no problems with memory.

EDIT: that mark 2 board doesnt seem big enough to mount a HDD on, is it? :S

Nice hardware for anyone who wants to expand their CD32.
BTW click on my sig's "SX32 Pro text" for how a SX32 Pro (030/50Mhz) looks

I didnt reply because I just wanted to give everyone a fair chance at it, replying to the first message that arrived within an hour isnt really fair on anyone else who might be interested.

And I didnt want some silly bidding war or to haggle hence...

Perhaps you'd be interested in an A500 with 1,2 MB extra fastram and/or a vintage Dell Laptop XPi CD? Also, willing to pay extra to get my hands on that beauty

It has arrived. Very well packaged. So much so I had difficulty getting in.

It didnt get off to a good start. Inside the parcel was the SX32's original box. It was very tatty covered in brown parcel tape.

Worse, everything had a slight damp smell (like it had been stored in the garden shed).

As I pulled one half of the SX32 out the protective bubble wrap my heart sunk as I saw that it had been hand soldered in the past. (It may have been done like this in the factory, but normally hand soldering means an attempt at home-repair)

But then I unwapped the main board and my heart lit up. It was almost mint, no dust, just a little bit of aluminium corrosion (which is to be expected). It probably looks as good as it did 13 years ago!

I do so hope everything works... fingers crossed.

Paul (aka Rhoobarb2005) was great to deal with, posted it next day. Seriously recommend him if he unearths any more Amiga gems.

About the same price as a modern premium price PC computer game and as discovered earlier in the thread, it's a MK1.

It was "untested" which from experience usually means "broken" (hey call me cynical if you like!)

I've not tried it yet. It will be a bonus if it works without repair.

I've not tested it. My spare CD32 (broken CD) is packed away and I've not had time to dig it out. I dont want to use my main CD32 until I know it wont blow it up
