And yet you advertised your distribution on the Apollo forum and then stopped offering it for download because people there treated you soooo badly...

i think we dont need to hammer on it any further, as long as winuae and amiberry users can be satisfied. to each his own, id say.

Dear grond I am 65 years old and I have more important things to think about in my life, I just wanted to show my work as an old Amigist, so that someone could take something beautiful of my distro, AROS One is addressed to all Amighists, if vampires are not Amighists it's not my fault.

Guys, can we stop all this rubbish now?

Take it to PM if you must.

...otherwise you'll leave me no choice but to move the thread out of the "News" section and then lock

Created a small Distro with the "Nightly Build" for AROS 68k 060, nothing special, a simple distro without external applications, seems to be faster

Yes you're right, unfortunately when I use WinUAE the video capture program does this by slowing down the video, delaying and fragmenting the audio.

With other emulators or virtualizers it doesn't happen

As I said on Apollo forum; thanks for sharing your work You gain knowledge and can help others if they have questions etc. So just ignore the negativity. Never get discouraged.

I wanted to ask if using AROS as a productivity system would be closer to a low end PC? Such as surfing the net, web based email, video + audio streaming, web office and etc? I was looking at Linux for a future build for the kids but maybe AROS is usable enough?

AROS One 68k is not compatible with Windows PC, AROS One 68k requires a genuine Amiga or AMIGA WinUAE or FS-UAE Emulator.

On Windows you have to use AROS One x8e, this one:

AROS One 68k

AROS One x86

I would not recommend it as a productivity system in todays terms... I personal like it and I can live with the shortcomings but recommending it as main platform is something different. One example is web browsing... even Odyssey on X86 (who is the most up to date and fastest browser on any amiga platform) is years old. If you want to test it you can download Icaros desktop (http://vmwaros.blogspot.com/) and install it in a virtual machine to test it.

Oh you can of course test AROS One X86 too...

I'm doing all the tests so that I can release the distro in an optimal way.

New version AROS x86 in a few days

New AROS 68k version a few more weeks
