mcp - visualprefs
i'm using classicwb with os3.9
i used to have a working MCP and i was happy with it today i installed visualprefs, disabled the mcp extensions that could conflict with it and rebooted... since that mcp doesn't start anymore and i can't understand why. i have tried putting a ; in the visualprefs startup-sequence line but still mcp doesn't start, i have also reinstalled mcp, but still nothing... any ideas to make them work together or at least to have mcp back? |

Save your mcp.config somewhere. Disable all mcp functions/patches and save them. Reboot and see what happens. If all works fine go to mcp prefs and enable all functions. Reboot and... further enable half of the patches, reboot and so on.

good idea, thanks
well... it is a bit better now: mcp still doesn't load at startup, both in the startup-sequence and in the wbstartup folder, but if i start it from the shell after booting it starts. strange... isn't it? |

trying to solve i have installed the last version of MCP (1.46) and i had no success.
but i saw that new mcp makes even more troubles. so, bored of this troubles, i went back to a backupped configuration that was working well. first thing i did has been to try again visual prefs, obtaining same results... i have again restored backup and this time i installed for first the new mcp version having many strange troubles like funny colors in the menus (almost impossible to read them) an almost impossible to read information bar in the middle of the screen and best of all... the impossibility to save configuration of mcp!! if i try to disable patches and click save, when i reboot the patches are all there again... any idea to solve at least this? |

What version of mcp works for you? If you try a newer version you should always try tha latest what is 1.48. Notice that the changelog from 1.46 to 1.48 has a size of ~56kb. I.e a lot of stuff has changed (old bugs removed, new bugs introduced).
