This looks great! How does CM4 compare to 3A+? This is all in one by the looks of it with the ribbon connector giving you the various outputs on the back without hacking the case?

Thanks for bringing all these bits together in one place. CM4's are at the moment unobtanium!

For those of you (like me) who already own a Pistorm32 Lite and want just the CM4 adapter (either his own or the original) you can buy from Edu Arana and others.

On that note.

You can only have a 3mm high heatsink. Mine cooks even at stock. I get 60degs. I did manage to fit a micro fan 2mm high to top of heatsink at back. That kept it at around 55degs.

Edu's adapter works great, however it sits on top of Lite board. Where as the official one plugs in underneath and CM4 is there for a lot lower, you can fit decend heatsink and fan to it.

I'd be cautious ordering anything from Retropassion. I've been waiting for an A1200 PiStorm-Lite with Pi3a+ for 5 weeks with no communication at all about order status.

Hello Steven,

When you ordered, the item was marked as on 'backorder' on the product page and at the checkout, with stock due late July again noted on the product page. Because of this we don't see the need to emailing something you already know and stock arrived in the last couple of days with the CM4's :-)

However some is stock going out tomorrow and will make sure yours is in that batch with something extra.

Now to find that midnight oil!

Thanks!

Steve

When I placed the order on 9th June, the item page said something like "next batch late April" in red text so I assumed it was in stock as it was June. It definitely didn't say anything about 'backorder'. But anyway, thanks for reply.

Hi. Is it possible to use that USB output port to connect an USB controller such as the subway. What is the OLED header for? What can be connected to the RTC header?

Unlikely. That USB is routed to a USB port on the RPi.

There's not much in the GitHub repo for this board.

I believe it is routed to the I2C master port on the RPi. So in theory whatever I2C device you want to connect. But given the name on the silk screen I imagine @Claude had something like these in mind. But of course you'd have to add support for such a device to emu68

I think it is just another chain in the RPi I2C. So you can add any I2C device you want. But given the name on the silk screen I believe @Claude had something like this in mind. It would allow the RPi to keep real-time without Wifi/Ethernet connection.

Limited support exists in emu68 for i2c devices.

I took a look at the schematic for the (presuming you are talking about the one linked to by alex) break-out board. The two USB connectors are connected to the same OTG port on the CM4. Normally, the USB micro B connector is used when programming the CM4 (or otherwise using it in device mode), and the USB A connector when using the CM4 in host mode. The jumper P1 switches between device/host modes.

What is, will and will not be supported by Emu68 on the CM4?

2GB RAM is sufficient I believe

Can I use (or is work ongoing for):
- CM4 onboard eMMC?
- CM4 onboard wifi?

2Gb is all the Amiga can handle, any more is a waste and is limited in cmdline.txt anyway.

eMCC is already supported, brcm-emmc.device

WiFi is not on the horizon just yet, compatibility and optimization is the priority at the moment....

2GB is all the Amiga will see along with only 3 Amiga Partitions on the eMMC Storage, but if you had a 4 or 8GB RAM CM4 Module, the EMU68 side of things will only see the first 2GB but Linux will see all the RAM on the module.

There are also PCIe nVME, Ethernet & USB devices which are still WIP on the EMU68 side of things. They are already Implemented in Linux of course!

You can create as many Amiga partitions as you with. The limit is only the number of available partitions type 0x76. Each of these is visible as separate unit in AmigaOS. On each of them you create Amiga partitions of any kind using hdtoolbox.

Regarding RTC I personally use this one: https://eckstein-shop.de/RTCModuleDS...2C3V2F5VSystem

It fits nicely and is supported by my SetClockI2C from Emu68-tools.

A note on onboard eMMC. On CM4 models with eMMC the traces for microSD are not routed! The reason is both eMMC and microSD are connected to the very same controller. So, either eMMC or microSD, never both.
