I went to a shop to buy an AtariST for music and I went out with an Amiga 500 in 1988. The sound blow me out! I didn't even KNEW the Amiga existed to that day.
The first game i saw and played was Amegas. The one that impressed me first was a playable demo of Space Ace. Many would come after that... |

Blood Money for me too. It came with an A500 pack. Both my brother and I thought it was awesome too. Although, it's only with deep sense of shame that I can admit that.

Elite and psygnosis barbarian,
And some colour cycling heart animation. I had an atari ST at the time, another friend showed me HAM mode and deluxe paint in hires interlace (ST needed a monitor for hires, and it was only mono). And that was it, hocked my ST, C64, and put my christmas money towards getting a second hand A500. |

The first game I ever witnessed (via emulation) was Total Chaos. I actually never really knew about how good Amigas were but I heard of Total Chaos and decided to install the emulator and battle through the problems just to play that game.
Now, I know everyone will pee their pants at me doing that considering how great other Amiga games are but that is what I did. After that I have tried out quite a few great games especially the ones I had tried on my old Atari ST. And that was what brought me here. Now I love to check out the EAB every time I switch my PC on (although I contribute very very little since I know little about Amigas). But I do wish that I had been fortunate enough to witness a lot more games back in the day. I'd literally have killed to try out some of these games when I was wee! |

The Soccer Kid Beta. Either that or Rolling Ronny (I will never forget the creepy looking intro pic).

I didn't know anything about the Amiga before I got the A500+ in 1991. Cartoon Classics pack of course (don't think it was produced long enough to have more packs!).
First game in after it was hooked up was Bart vs. The Space Mutants. Couldn't believe the quality of the intro! The game isn't brilliant, but I didn't know better at the time. Then Captain Planet (hasn't stood the test of time either!) and Lemmings last. Lemmings got most of the repeated plays of those first three games though! |

Lemmings on the 1200 in the 90's but in the early 80's it was Stroker on the C64, the game was ... interesting...

It Came From The Desert... Awsome game! I liked the speech as you whizzed through the hospital in your wheelchair. The nurses and doctor's would shout 'Their he goes! That's the guy!' as you made your escape, which would make me chuckle!

I was going to get an ST, then I saw F/A-18 Interceptor running on the machine next to it.

I remember visiting my cousin, and my uncle had bought an A500. We played Gee Bee Air Rally, Test Drive and POW. I was blown away by the amazing graphics and sound. I also remember this speech application where you could type in words and the machine would speak the words back. Mindboggling stuff!
It wasn't cool to return to my house and my Atari XE system. Missile Command ... yei... |
