Not exactly the same, one minor but important difference.

This won't work, I tried similar setup and it was a no-go. First you have to change directory to where slave is and then run whdload, otherwise it looks for game data in directory from where you executed whdload command and gives Dos-Error #205 Object not found error.

Aye, you are correct.

Being in the same dir can help. However that should'nt have to be, I have launched loads of WHDLoad stuff that way and never had a problem.
It was something to try anyway.

Not got a CF mem (4meg) ?

I got a new sandisk which works fine as storage.

Only have a 2meg amiga 600 atm. 8meg board on order

So might have to skim the workbench down a bit ?

Just giving the whdload a go from where the slave is located.

Glad to hear that you got it working.
Me thinks it's because it looks for game data in directory from where you executed whdload command and gives Dos-Error #205 Object not found error.

Is there a way to set the icons to say that where the icon is run that is where the slave is and other objects...

I assumed when i ran the icon it knew that all the other files were located locally within that folder.

That should be done automatically... if you're using KG's preinstalled games you should be able to just double-click on the icon and away you go.

Hmm, so what do you think i should do. Wipe my HD and do a clean install with a cut down version of Workbench... install the Installer in /c and then run the WHDLoad install. Put a game on my HD and try and run it again?

Im a bit confused why some do work and some dont :?

If you have all your whdload games from KG packs than they all should work if you just click on it's icon. The only problem that you can encounter is not enough memory since you got only 2Mb and workbench itself takes some memory.
Or you can boot without startup sequence to get most of available ram and start games from cli. But than you should change the directory to where slave is and then stat whdload.

Yeah, people tell me that but it just wont work properly from the icons!

How do i go about booting to save more memory. Will only need to do that for a while as my 8meg jobbie should come within a month. Hopefully! :P

Going to wait until my 8 meg board comes then continue with this project. Probably format everything and start again.

Maybe you have a setup problem with your install of WB. This is proberly causing your not working from the icons problem.

Why not mount your HDD / CF on PC and test it in WinUAE, with the extra memory.
