If you can't partition it, don't worry. Create or take any empty drawer of your Pc, put it as first device in the option of WinUAE for CD&Hardrives, bootable and you can boot there with the Install floppy installed and install there all the OS3.1 stuff.
Then once you've got it working you can install there your software and when you'll receive the CF partitioned you can install the Cf in WinUAE together with your new drawer with OS3.1 and then you can copy all the files there directly from one to another. |

UPDATE:-
Ok I'm sort of hap hashing my way through. Tried to follow Steves video but I cannot sing in an an administrator on Xp as I never set up the account so I haven't got a pass word. GOOD NEWS - I now have a CF card in my 1200 with 3 partitions. All without using the hellishly confusing WinUAE. Thing is I'm now trying to instal workbench onto the CF drive (again without using winUEA what is where everything goes wrong for me.) How do I get my install floppy disk to go onto my CF drive so I dont need to insert the floppy? |

There is an installer in the floppy, you choose to the language and it guides you through installation.

yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey, I now have installed workbench on my A1200. The end result for me was to avoid WinUAE like the plague. Like anything modern day computer far far too many options to faff on with for those who just want there old amiga working.
Sadly, now I need to get my Music X and Octamed ADFs onto my CF card. So its time to faff with WinUAE again sigh! Half way then. THanks so much to everyone who has helped me. Very kind. |

Excellent
Check out this from Amigakit: http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/...roducts_id=440 It will let you transfer your files to your Amiga with a normal FAT formatted CF card, small ones, 256mb-1gb are better. (The old blue labelled Sandisk ones I would recommend) If you transfer the ADF's you can then use EasyADF to write them back to Disks, that way you could easily update to BetterWB: http://lilliput.amiga-projects.net/BetterWB.htm |

Hi Steve,
Wouldn't this do the same thing for half the price? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Amiga-PCMC...item3396f2d82a |

Yeah that would be fine, I'm not sure what software they include but it's freely available on Aminet anyway. I recommend tsgui for writing back the adf to disk, you can use the kit to transfer it.
Good luck. |

I might still have the disks you asked about, I usually keep disks with interesting programs on them. :-)

If you install BetterWB http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?p=984216#post984216 , you've got Prepcard+ that will make it easy to prepare the CF card you use in the PCMCIA. |
