Katakis 2

For the interested: Denaris Entertainment (including Manfred Trenz and Markus Siebold) are working on Katakis 2, for PC.

Some Previews:

I´ll be posting more stuff at my Turrican Fanpage (yes, not directly Turrican related, but it´s from Manfred Trenz, so.... )

I'll be interested if there's an Aros port. I wonder if there's any way to convince them to start supporting modern Amiga systems again.

I don't like the gfx, too artificials, they should have a look at Ikaruga or Gradius 5 these are state of the art shmup using 3D well with a 2D gameplay.

I agree with Kamelito, the sprites are way too big and everything looks smeared together.
It's the "Photoshop Generation" graphics that I never liked.

Trenz renewed the rights to the name Turrican in January 2011 for himself.

That also was my first thought, the main sprite is much to large.

But the graphics seem 3d to me, not photoshopped, so maybe it looks better in motion (or if it´s finished... ).

What a disappointment. Hope they make the main sprite at least 1 bagillion times smaller.

It is just the beginning of developement, just be patient.
I think Manfred knows how to make a shmup just right.
I have a feeling that exciting things will happen?
Especially for a new TURRICAN game?
If a new TURRICAN gets real, I will be flying over the moon for sure.

Well many projects around Turrican and Katakis never saw the light of the day, it's surely not his fault, let's hope that now he can deliver.

I still think the graphics are sub-par and disappointing.

Did it ever come out? It says "late summer 2011".
