"Swollen" Capacitors on CD32

Hi,

just recently I acquired a CD32 in nice cosmetic condition which was in urgent need of recapping, though.

So, I did the recap and realized that two electrolytic throughhole caps near the expansion bay (1000 µF, I think) looked swollen on top - as if they were only days away from bursting.

I replaced all electrolytic caps with new Panasonic ones and the CD32 continued to work happily.

Today however, when finally fitting a flicker fixer, I saw that the new caps already look swollen again.

So my question is: Could it be that they are backwards from factory? I heard that in some CD32s two caps are mounted backwards. But does that mean that the print on the silk screen is wrong?

Or is this normal and I should ignore it?

Thanks in advance,
Torsten

Yep, the two large through hole caps near the power switch need to be facing negative towards the switch.
