R.i.p. Mr.needle, without you, we wouldn't be posting here at EAB, your work on the Amiga will live on forever and to leave with something like that is pretty amazing achievement from an Amazing individual.

This is very, very sad news to hear, but as a non-facebook user, i appreciate you bringing this to the community.

It comes on the back of the recent passing of Mr Les Player (Ex-Atari UK) and Mr Tony Gibson – Tasket (http://www.gamesthatwerent.com/2016/...ry/#more-10230).

RIP one and all.

Yea it is. Someone posted a vid of RJ and Dave back in the day on the death notice on fb with them recording a happy birthday message for Trip Hawkins (i think). It's hilarious. One verse they are upside down singing it, another behind a door with glass window.

Shows RJ's and Dave's great friendship an insight into the work atmosphere at amiga inc and when they worked together on the lynx.

Enough to bring a tear to your eye.

Very bad news. I have lost good friends and I know how RJ will feel. Stay strong if you read this.

Exactly; to us nerds, Dave shared the same pedestal and made as much of a contribution to the world. He'll be sadly missed. Rest in peace and best wishes to his family.

Ditto (x2). Dave and RJ Mical were a great team - I bought the Lynx purely because of their involvement. I wasn't disappointed! Great little handheld and very much underrated. Hopefully RJ can buck the trend and outlive his dearly departed Amiga compatriots for a whole lot longer.

Terrible as it is to say but usually when no cause of death is attributed it means suicide.
It's no way to go if that's the case here. Sad indeed.

Hi David. Dave died of natural causes on Friday evening. It's a long story, but suffice it to say: it was time for him to let go.
I may be mistaken but I seem to recall somebody on the Amiga 30th event web cast saying something along the lines of how happy they were that Dave was well enough to attend.
