Help with Warp3D and Voodoo 3
Hi EAB community,
I'm trying to configure a Mediator 1200TX with a Voodoo 3 and a Blizzard PPC. Almost everything works: - p96 screenmodes ok - audio with sb128 and Ahi 6 - spider 2 for usb - Warpup demos The only thing that fails are warp3d demos, either 68k or ppc demos. I'm using MM CD 25 upgrade drivers. Since my last medreport below I modified as suggested by elbox support : PowerPC/force to 1 Mediator/Warp3D to No No changes warp3d demos still fail. My medreport: *** Envarc: variable settings: *** MMU = No, previous setting: No NoCache = Not Set, previous setting: Not Set Emulation = No, previous setting: No Buster = Not Set, previous setting: Not Set RadeonMem = 32, previous setting: 32 RadeonMemOS = No, previous setting: No VoodooMem = 8, previous setting: 8 VoodooMemOS = No, previous setting: No VoodooInt = Yes, previous setting: Yes VirgeMem = Not Set, previous setting: Not Set VirgeInt = Not Set, previous setting: Not Set Warp3D = Yes, previous setting: Yes Gfxaddr = $00200000, previous setting: $00200000 Force = 0, previous setting: 0 Terminator = 2, previous setting: 2 Memsize = Not Set, previous setting: Not Set FastEthernet = 0, previous setting: 0 tv.prefs file name = Not Set, previous setting: Not Set Tuner = Not Set, previous setting: Not Set Background = Not Set, previous setting: Not Set SpiderBuf = 5, previous setting: 5 *** Mediator System Files versions: *** pci.library - ver.12.0 (11840 bytes) MediatorNET.device - ver.2.10 (6176 bytes) Radeon.card - ver.2.23 (16976 bytes) Voodoo.card - ver.4.35 (15072 bytes) Virge.card - ver.1.13 (12064 bytes) Vendors.txt - ver. info N/A (283777 bytes) MedConfig - ver.2.2 (126392 bytes) *** Mediator Multimedia CD Files versions: *** FastEthernet.device - ver.1.24 (7120 bytes) mixer.library - ver.1.11 (4016 bytes) fm801.audio - ver.4.14 (4156 bytes) FM801 - ver. info N/A (1180 bytes) sb128.audio - ver.4.20 (6336 bytes) SB128 - ver. info N/A (2032 bytes) SBMixer - ver.1.4 (2004 bytes) tv.library - ver.4.13 (10304 bytes) TV - ver.1.4 (1956 bytes) tv.vhi - file N/A *** Spider Files versions: *** poseidon.library - ver.4.5 (114508 bytes) spider.device - ver.3.22 (18560 bytes) DriveSpeed - ver.1.4 (2056 bytes) *** Warp 3D files versions: *** Warp3D.library - ver.4.2 (67648 bytes) Warp3DPPC.library - ver.4.2 (101020 bytes) *** Warp 3D for A3/4000 files versions: *** W3D_Picasso96.library - file N/A W3D_Picasso96_PPC.library - file N/A W3D_AvengerBE.library - file N/A W3D_AvengerBE_PPC.library - file N/A W3D_AvengerLE.library - file N/A W3D_AvengerLE_PPC.library - file N/A *** MMU Warp 3D for A1200 files versions: *** W3D_Picasso96MU.library - file N/A W3D_AvengerBEMU.library - file N/A W3D_AvengerLEMU.library - file N/A *** NO_MMU Warp 3D for A1200 files versions: *** W3D_Picasso96M.library - ver.4.2 (12780 bytes) W3D_Picasso96M_PPC.library - ver.1.0 (35292 bytes) W3D_AvengerBEM.library - ver.4.2 (535304 bytes) W3D_AvengerBEM_PPC.library - ver.4.2 (443516 bytes) W3D_AvengerLEM.library - ver.4.2 (535388 bytes) W3D_AvengerLEM_PPC.library - ver.4.2 (411612 bytes) *** Other files versions: *** AmigaOS ROM Update - ver.44.57 (321768 bytes) rtg.library - ver.40.3945 (216548 bytes) emulation.library - ver.40.389 (39652 bytes) Picasso96API.library - ver.2.300 (24520 bytes) ahi.device - ver.6.6 (83908 bytes) 68040.library - ver.46.5 (748 bytes) 68060.library - ver.46.3 (65028 bytes) warp.library - ver.5.1 (21288 bytes) ppc.library - file N/A *** Other files versions: *** scsi.device - ver.60.47 (-1 bytes) FastATA.driver - file N/A ATA3.driver - file N/A 4xEIDE.driver - ver.4.7 (14000 bytes) Cocolino.driver - file N/A eFlasher - file N/A model - , gfx - , zorro - , pcmcia - , serial - , ppc - , mmu030 - , mmulib - , nocache - , emulation - , warp3d - , pci - . |

I think voodoo only works on the Amiga when it is set at 16 bit regarding Warp3D.
Also try both the PC(LE) and BE 16 bit screen modes. |

Thank you Hedeon. My workbench screen is in 16 bits pc, no background picture to save vram. Warptest or gears demo crash immediately. Hoe can i access to the BE modes?
If I let the A4000 drivers wrongly installed by the install script, warptest is able to launch, I got a screen mode selector, then a blue screen with text but no 3d objects. I was also wondering if the usage of thor mmulib could cause those issues. |

Do you have all modes enabled in P96 or just the essentials? Normally if all are enabled you have two options for every voodoo screen mode. One with PC next to it and another without.

Ok I enabled all modes. Testing from screenmode a non pc mode give me a black screen then a reboot.

Tested with 3 differents Voodoo 3 2000 16MB. Two looking like this: https://goo.gl/images/YXu7ce
and one like this: https://goo.gl/images/PvYq6h I was wondering what I should put in PowerPC/gfxaddr. If I put $200000 (the medconfig value) I got a blackscreen and freeze when launching gears_ppc. If I put $80000000 (pciinfo memspace0 for the voodoo 3) I got a ppc exception memory violation at 00000008 |

if MMU = no then $200000 if MMU = yes then pciinfo memspace as far as I know.
On the other hand, you said the 68K Warp3D is also not working. Where did you get the drivers? From Aminet or the Mediator CD? |

Thank you Hedeon! I was certain that I was using the files from the archive downloaded on Elbox website. But just to be sure I reinstalled from the MM cds, now it’s working!!!
So to summarize, if it can be util to others:
Now P96 and voodoo 3 support:
MMU = No
Now Warp 3D
Warp3D = No
Gfxaddr = $200000 |
